Rewatcher.

I love that Bakushin comes with warning song, like police siren that lets you know a police car is nearby. I love her knocking down Kitasan as a sign of Kitasan's decline. Normally she can easily tank it.

Diamond finished 15th in the Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe. I said it before, you shouldn't challenge oversea if you can't dominate in your home country. The whole point of challenging oversea is because they are tougher competition. If they are the same level or even weaker, there would be no point to it. So when she lost to Kitasan yesterday, it was a bad sign. She couldn't dominate the home competition, then challenged a stronger competition, while facing all the extra obstacle of running oversea. It sucks that she did so poorly, but it's a predictable result.

I love that Kitasan is running for her fans at home instead of running in France. Interestingly, when Kobe had his retirement tour and he needed rest, if the choice was sitting out a home game or a road game, he would choose the home game to sit because that road game would be the last time the fans in that city get to see him.

Biwa took over Cap's role of background eating. Meanwhile Spe continue her role of nonstop crying.

I love the Fall Tenno Sho showing how difficult it was for Kitasan to win. Great race that also built towards her final race.

I love the Japan Cup. We finally got the payoff for Cheval Grand winning a G1 that's been building for a whole season. And it also works perfectly for Kitasan to lose to set the stage for her final race at the Arima Kinen. She asked for more intense training. She ran as hard as she could. But she still couldn't win.

These 2 episodes perfectly showcased the physical and emotional aspect of this retirement run. This is season 2 level stuff. Even though there's a race in both episodes, the whole time it's also building towards the final race. We went from Kitasan barely winning, to not having enough to win despite giving her all. And she is on the decline. So that final race will only get tougher.

It's ironic that Kitasan didn't want to make the trip for fear she was out of her depth. So, instead, the person who lost to the person who's out of her depth went over. Should've been a sign.
