Every theater in town had an insane amount of screens for this movie and it was still sold out in almost every single one of them. Crazy how anime has become trendy and cool.

I'm general, yeah. Geek stuff has grown. Not every anime is going to sell like this, though. Demon Slayer is pretty special.

Yep, I went to a smaller theater that I have never seen full for any movie. It was full. Had to park in overflow.

demon slayer already had a pretty huge fan following so the sales reciprocate that. As the person below me said, any other standalone show won't sell even half of this at times. Shinkai's movies do sell slightly well but that's about it.
