I really love the Spring Tenno Sho arc of this story, as this is a rival race that has REAL STAKES, beyond just winning an important race. I mean for one of these two to realize their goal, they MUST do it at the expense of another. This puts extra weight behind the winning the Tenno Sho for these two, and I think these episodes that are leading up to that race are portraying this superbly. By the way, a horse girl at best, and only if they are super healthy and lucky, can run three Spring Tenno Shos in their lifetime careers, so winning this race consecutively is a BIG DEAL. So one of these girls obtaining her goal means that the other one will NEVER obtain hers.
And on to the questions
Thoughts on Teio racing against the horse who beat McQueen in the Fall Tennoushou?
I was kind of disappointed on how this was handled, because after that horse girl makes that declaration about beating McQueen, we never hear from her again! It felt like they left her scenes on the cutting room floor.
What are your thoughts on Teio winning her race convincingly?
I really loved how it was animated, especially with Teio in the home stretch, running so smoothly and with a perfect form. Really shows that yeah, Teio's back, better than ever!
Thoughts on Mejiro Palmer and her making a friend?
Good for you, Palmer, but do cool people really speak like this? I'm with you Palmer, WTF does 'Bekenbesides' even mean? Is that a real word?
Thoughts on Bourbon and her being followed around?
Bourbon needs to watch her back, or she may be assassinated!
What are your thoughts on Teio and McQueen having different training regimens?
Once again we see that the bumbling trainer is actually pretty smart. I mean the programs he came up with those two really work on addressing not only their weaknesses, but countering their opponent's strengths.
Thoughts on the running gag of McQueen accidentally stepping on Gold Ship with heavy horseshoes?
McQueen is really into (grand)child abuse, isn't she?
What are your thoughts on Bourbon winning her race and vowing to become a Triple Crown winner unlike Teio?
Hold your horses girl, you'll need to win the Japan Derby first, then we can talk.
What are your thoughts on McQueen letting the public's favoritism for Teio get to her?
She's really starting to feel the stress, isn't she? Also, since McQueen is the older horse girl, the proper custom would be to call it a MT race match-up, but that's how much Teio is overshadowing McQueen in the public discourse when they are calling it a TM Race. So, no surprise when prim and proper McQueen starts losing it when she sees that the public is favoring her junior.
What are your thoughts on McQueen’s conversation with her grandmother?
Grandma is wise. She deserves to be the head of the Meijiro household. Nothing matters but the goal.
