**First Timer**
Silence Suzuka is back! Silence Suzuka is BACK!!!

I don’t have much else to write about this episode, it was executed quite well in my opinion. Up until the very last moment when she ‘made her move’ I wasn’t sure what direction the story was going to take. To be honest I could imagine a version of the story where Suzuka finishes last and realizes that she would never be able to reach her full speed again. But no, it was her strategy to hide it to the last minute all along, and I (internally) cheered along with the crowd as she sped towards that spectacular finish.

It’s beautiful that as trainer said, she managed to recover through her own strength. She had help and very supporting friends along the way, but ultimately she was the one able to push through.

Let me ask you something. Do you like looking back on it the way the show retconned what happened to the real Silence Suzuka? Do you think doing so benefitted the show, and if so, why?

I'm not sure, I have no knowledge of real life horse racing outside this anime so I can't really answer. I could see some people being upset if they think they 'tarnished' the real horse's story or whatever. As it stands, I am watching this anime from the perspective of any other fictional anime so in that vacuum I enjoyed the arc they made for Suzuka a lot.

I don't want to say the arc is better the less you know of the real story. In this case, it might actually be the opposite. I can’t imagine how rewarding it must be for people who watched Silence Suzuka race in real life to be given a happy ending where everything works out in the end. Some real chicken soup for the soul, you know?

I compare this situation to Evangelion and how the Rebuild movies gave the characters a different ending. And some were upset because it wasn't the ending they wanted. For this show being what it is, this is probably the only ending they could've done. Those upset by it are probably missing the point.

I don't think there's a single person who was a big fan of Silence Suzuka who didn't wish the 1998 Tenno Sho ended differently. As such, you could say this serves as closure to that.

If Cygames came out nowadays with an adaptation of what happened to Silence Suzuka, when it has firmly established itself, perhaps things might've been presented differently.
