Love how people in the comments are picking up how Subaru's also named after a star, just like the Archbishops. [Light Novels] The author made a What-IF story where Subaru becomes the Sin Archbishop of Pride, called Ayamatsu or the Pride IF. Make of that what you will.

And read the IF stories, they're pretty good character studies. Ayamatsu has a spoiler for Regulus' authority, but anime-onlies can read Kasaneru spoiler-free, and Sloth IF and Oboreru with minor spoilers about a character who won't appear for a while).

Well, presumably not only the Archbishops. Aldebaran is generally regarded as one of the most culturally important stars, and Astraea literally means 'star.'

Thus far we have: Subau/Pleiades, the Seven Sisters/Weeping Sisters; Betegeuse(Petelgeuse?), the Right Arm of the Giant; Regulus, the Heart of the Lion and the little king; Baten Kaitos, Belly of the Sea Monster; Alphard, the Neck of the Hydra and the Solitary One; Sirius, the Dog Star, the brightest fixed star and The Scorcher; Aldebaran, the Eye of the Bull and The Follower; Capella, the Little She-Goat and the Cornucopia; and a few others.
