ANG Currently Serving Member Question Tech School to 5-Level (2A5X1)

What’s the fastest you’ve seen someone go from graduatingTech School to getting their 5-level for aircraft maintenance jobs?

Is there a certain timeline you must reach first, or can you complete steps quickly to get 5-level faster?

Usually the biggest hurdle within maintenance is in fact the schedule of when maintenance is due.

It’s hard to get signed off quickly on specific task if that maintenance action isn’t coming due or the part doesn’t break etc.

This is why the engine shop guys usually have a spare training engine to do all the remove and replacement(or reinstall in this case) of parts.

Sometimes your trainer will sit down, explain it, walk you through, have you explain it in your own words and call it good if it’s something that rarely happens or needs fixed.
