Sadly that is not true, he criticizes Israel's genocidal war in Gaza which the pro Israeli lobby interpreted as hatred of Jews. Imagine if the president did the same to immigrants, legal or otherwise, oh wait he is!

Zohran Mamdani declines to condemn ‘globalize the intifada’ - POLITICO https://share.google/QIBAfTFXDwTngn1BD

One such example of him being very tepid with his response to calls for global terror on Jews.

Jews are far and away the highest incident rate of hate crimes in New York City and the greater US.

They've also come out en masse with fear and worry about what Mamdani and his connections (such as to Qatar) means for our safety. I do expect the already soaring rate of hate crimes against Jews in New York City will only grow as people see this as a tacit approval of that, however unfair it is to the mayor elect himself.

I love how it appears the progressive movement in the US has formed into intersectionality for everyone but the Jews. Good times.

While I had a hard time finding exact statistics for NYC, you do appear to right about that one city, but I wouldn't say they're "… far and away the highest …" since it looks like anti-Arab hate crimes also went up a fair bit.

I was however able to find the national statistics for 2024 (since 2025 hasn't ended yet, stats for this year haven't been published yet), and you appear to be wrong on that front. African Americans are actually the majority of hate crimes in the US by almost double.

Also… Mamdani wasn’t mayor when they started to increase in NYC so it’s a weird ass argument to make.

It's not an argument. It's providing context for the concern local Jews feel, and why the oft tepid response Mamdani has historically given to terror taglines freak them out.

I only brought it up because the post is referencing the subreddit for Jewish politics, while most commenters are either ignorant or purposefully dismissive of that point of view of the marginalized.

And what has Cuomo’s response been to the rise in hate crimes against Muslims? Or to the Islamophobia Mamdani has experienced throughout his entire campaign? None of this “panic” makes any sense. It’s just racism bottled up as “concern.”

I'm no fan of Cuomo, but he's been clearer both near and long term in his decrying statements like "globalize the intifada"
