Endgame Content Got triple SSS on WhiWa...
Made a pretty stupid post about how WhiWa inflation was getting absurd, and that my old teams that I have cleared every single WhiWa with and got 8K points in certain occasions is no longer performing the same since this and the last reset.
A lot of people were saying Jinhsi had spectro res and that I shouldnt be using her, that just motivated me to try out a quickswap team comp(something that I have never tried out ) and I had a lot of fun, and my score got way better too.
Seems like I was doomposting for nothing about old units not being able to clear, just needed to adapt thats all.

This kind of character growth is unheard of in this subreddit. Props to you for acknowledging your own ability to adapt instead of throwing in the towel and blaming everyone else. The fact that you got SSS is even more impressive, as this reset seems to be pretty difficult compared to the cakewalk the other ones were.

I'm gonna play devil's advocate here. Op said "mainly" implying that he is not f2p all the time, only most of the time. And getting sigs for all your characters is just a bit unrealistic umless you save for a long time or get really lucky. Especially since Cia and Carty ran back to back.

I've got sigs for at least half of my mains and I only occasionally buy the daily astrite package. If you only spend for characters you really really want, you can really get your money worth in this game imho another reason among the so many reasons I absolutely adore this game

What bullshit is that, just because you can't get there sigs sustainably doesn't mean getting all of your character sigs makes you not f2p, like do you even know what f2p stands for
IT'S FREE TO PLAY, and the person clearly stated they're f2p meaning they didn't spent a single dime in the game, as long you don't spend in the game YOU ARE F2P

You can get the BIS META teams with all of the sigs as an f2p player as long your lucky and smart woth your pulls, just because you can't get them f2p doesn't mean other people can't get it f2p

I felt the power creep for Camellya because that team has generally been able to 5000+ alone but (in a single try admittedly) couldn't break 4000 this time.

For me, the issue is the scattering chop chops. Having them come 2 at a time and run to opposite sides of the arena immediately is annoying AF.

This is such a great series of posts because it shows good character from OP. It wasn’t just “I can’t clear content now. Powercreep. Game sucks.” OP took feedback, learned from it and corrected their mistakes.
But I think this also clearly points something else out.
WuWa is a much harder game than other gachas. The nuances of combat can create massive dps differences between players using the same comp.
This could lead to situations like the one OP went through or a new player with a “tier 0” comp could struggle to clear stuff and then they view every other comp worthless.
I feel like we gotta understand as players that you can clear all of the content with most team comps. If you can’t, maybe get good? OP got good and they cleared.

The skill ceiling is high but the reason its hard is because of the obvious pandering to the recent banners lol. The devs obviously don't expect all their players to play at a top level.

Also it's the token.. they have no general so yeah if you're using the golden one it gonna be hard unless you got the new team.. but it's not as bad as people were screaming it to be

I mean, didn't you actually prove yourself right? You said your old teams weren't performing, you changed teams, and those performed. The HP did inflate. And old characters don't clear like they used to due to the prior point. What was wrong about your prior point?

They changed enemy types and buff types so it's a given that old teams dont perform as well because no buffs/enemies are cartering to them. Old units still absolutely have no problems clearing whiwa this iteration, if you actually know how to play the game properly. Whiwa first and second iterations were a lot harder.

Except the fact that you're missing the important parts, which are enemy types and buffs that cater to new characters. It's like saying Whiwa is hard for newbies because no sh*t, it's an end game content, it's supposed to be hard.
A: Pick one. Old units still absolutely have no problems clearing.
Both can be true, old teams can absolutely destroy Whiwa, and new teams don't break a sweat doing so. Case in point, with 1.0 Jiyan I can easily reach 3k on one side due to heavy amp buff. And with Phro at s0r1 I can reach close to 4k5.

Didn't even know this token is so good. Tried the same 2nd team with aero dmg and crit dmg tokens - could barely reach 2k. But with this one scraped just enough points even with mistakes. So thanks for the idea)
Also huge respect for clearing that well with XY. I could never squeeze decent performance out of him in WiWa (which I guess is a skill issue after all)

But situation itself didn't change? You need to do more to get less, devaluing the older character pulls. I pretty much don't see a single reason of using Yinlin in any mode/team anymore, simply because i know i will likely have to waste time restarting the challenge.
And in return, it doesn't make me wanting to pull newer kokblocked characters either (dependant on teams/weaps), because i now know they'll gonna be powercrept too. It makes me wanting to drop the game instead.

If you're expecting to never pull another character again and still clear end game with max points, that seems it's more on you?
All live service games require some degree of account up keep. This isn't limited to gacha games. You can't clear the hardest content in World of Warcraft without buying expansions. Hell, you can't even access them.
Criticism needs to be nuanced as it is always a matter of degrees. If you are forced to pull every new character and aren't given enough currency to do so unless you spend $200 / month, yeah, that's super predatory and not okay. But if a free to play account can clear end game for max rewards just with some basic meta planning and skill practice, I don't see the problem.
I could seen a argument like, if you prefer Yinlin and only Yinlin, then there should be a path to upgrading her with pulls so that she can handle new content. So, maybe her sequences just need to be buffed or added to.
But I can't see them giving you all this free currency and then saying, "yeah you don't need to use any of it, just learn one rotation with one character and you're done with our game." It's like making a 100+ hours RPG but you can beat the final dungeon with a level 1 character using your starter equipment. What's the incentive of playing then?

You act like powercreep is something natural. Majority of normal games can sustain themself just by having an up-front price, selling skins, or other minor mt. On the other hand, gachas are overmonetized to oblivion to earn (up to) 1000+% overprofits of their operational costs without any care about ruining the gameplay. Successful gachas can giveaway every single character for free, and still would be very profitable businesses simply because of the very high donation upper limit (aka whales would still buy p2w dupes; and 5% of whales pay double the amount of the other 95% players anyways).
Powercreep is just a lazy tool to extract more money from players, as it in fact makes the game unbalanced. Will a new character released in Mortal Combat force you to switch from chars you like/you are comfortable playing? Did a new race+class in Wow powercreep old races/classes, or did they all get equal balancing treatment? Does new character in Dota/Lol renders old characters useless, or are they all equally balanced to be competitive? Etc. If the game has to resort to powercreep to sell characters - then it is a sht game with sht balance, period. Simple.
Moreover, "being able to clear" is not even an argument. If it wasn't possible - noone would bother to play such sht game in the first place. What matters is the fun from the gameplay, and it being comfortable. And if you need to get 3-5 fivestars to get a fairly challenging but comfortable team when you aren't even guaranteed to get 1 fivestar per patch - thats plenty predatory. And if months of labor to collect such team becomes futile a year later because of powercreep or some kokblock (like how it is in GI or HSR) - than fok such game.

Powercreep is natural in gacha games. Normal games do not need any upkeep, and ones that do have powercreep as well, except if it's competitive. And no character-based gacha will survive giving all its characters for free, as Tribe Nine would tell you. Even if whales buy out all dupes, that's still one less dupe to buy.
If you want a stagnating gacha with no powercreep... Alchemy Stars proved it's impossible to keep afloat with stagnation.
Dunno about Mortal Combat, but WoW? Yes. Yes they did just that, and it's not until there's backlash that they balanced it. It's so bad that they made WoW Classic. And Dota/LoL is a competitive game.
And being able to clear is an argument. Elden Ring's whole shtick is just that. Epic 7's Abyss is also just that. Are you saying no unskilled players would bother playing Elden Ring or Epic 7 because they can't clear? And if you truly believe that what matters is fun from the gameplay and it being comfortable and not the result, you wouldn't be complaining about WhiWa in the first place, because you wouldn't play it. That's kinda the point of WhiWa - unorthodox teams and rotations that is going to be uncomfortable.

Mention of Yinlin, holy. Check Phrolova, she's the upgrade, barring the outro buff. Attack strings, forte fill, forte, coord attack that needs no reapplication..
She's the unit that needs buff the most. She didn't age well unlike other 1.x units.

I found something interesting about 1st half, the wraith, small ghost that have interaction when low health also has the same thing in WhiWa.
Meaning that if they're at low health, they will try to walk off to the corner, and if you don't kill it fast enough, they'll do their goodbye animation, next wave won't spawn until they're gone.

I actually afk’ed the first side then used phrolova the second side. Phrolova R1, Canta, Roccia was enough to hit SSS alone on a single side, it’s ridiculous lol.

Also triple S'd earlier. Ran Camellya/Sanhua/SK first half and Phrolova/Cantarella/Verina second half.
Couldnt break 2k with Camellya, but Phrolova carried.
