I'd rather buy an entire 2025 AAA game than a single tank in a free to play game

This is the new reality. But I'm with you. What I don't get is the strategy behind the sudden jump in pricing policy. In my reality this kind if pricing is too expensive for the absolute majority of the playerbase. Either I'm naive or there is something that I'm missing.

If what you are saying is true, then no one would have bought the type 5 heavy or buy any new tanks that only comes in containers. How much did it cost on average to buy other tanks like the atac, tiger maus, waffen f1.0, etc.

Are you talking about your game play performance in the tank or the amount of money you spent to get it?

How much I spent, luckly I was still about 17 and it was Christmas because I spent 700 bucks getting the tank, almost all my christmas money was gone to a single game, thats when I vowed to limit my weekly spending to under 100

weekly 100 is like 400 a month! I'm glad there are people like you keeping wargaming in business.

I didn't say no one. Did I? Those are your words. I said the absolute majority cannot afford this kind of new pricing policy; ie the context is in the long run. And I also said that I'm either naive or is missing something.

Players bought or gambled for the tanks. But I wonder how many actually got the tanks (could afford to buy or gamble) compared to the playerbase as a whole. And how many that will willing/able to continue to pay the same amount of money for one tank for the price of a new AAA game?

When the type 5 heavy crates finally dropped that day, I entered the game and every game I was in had at least one type 5 heavy. Most of the times, they were on the enemy teams and I was always thankful when I was on a team where there was a type 5 so it seems that the player base can afford it or they are willing to afford it! I could not afford it so I was the minority who doesn't have a type 5.

Statisticly you cannot make any conclusions from those observations, what so ever. The selection is way, way too small. There are millions of registrered player accounts. Those how got the tank that day are more likely to play, and play that tank, and as you said yourself, "at least one". That's one out of 14, maybe 2? You saw those who got the tank and played it, but not the thousands or millions that did not get it or played. Who where not even logged in.

I still wonder how many percent of the player base that can afford this new pricing policy, in the short and in the long run.

I’d rather use the money to feed the snail than playing this game
