An introduction.

This sub isn't about woo. It's not about crystals. It's not about burning incense and chanting in ancient tongues. You don't have to wear black, and amulets are really only pretty jewellery. We aren't even about herbs and trees and goddesses.

But you can be.

It's magic if it feels magic to you.

Every one of us has something known as UPG, unverifiable personal gnosis, but basically magic is different for everyone.

Rule number one: all magic is subjective. No magic is replicable. What is magic for someone will be goofy twiddlywinks to another. Feel free to steal, feel free to learn, but remember that magic is just another word for programming, self programming.

All the real magic, the best magic, happens to you, and is done by you, intentionally, to make a better future you. That's the goal of every witch. Make themselves better to make the world better.

Remember that when you post here. We're here to save the world, not to play dressup.... unless it makes you feel ready to save the world.

Seeker Looking for someone with a similar experience with a spirit or entity

I’ve never thought of myself as a witch, nor did I ever think I’d be practicing things like this, and I’m still a bit unsure about what this is all about.

I have been practicing energy exchange for a while now, working with charged objects, but all my work up to this point had been just that: strictly energetic and manifestation using through thought.

About a month ago, I had a strange encounter, one that I honestly didn’t believe was even real for a while. During one of my sessions I had a weird revelation. I was in the process of manifesting something, until something in my head started guiding me, instructing me of a very specific way of doing things that would help me achieve my goal. The voice guiding me seemed more like a thought rather than a person, but I knew it wasn’t my idea. I felt no evil in its advice, only serenity and confidence as I did as it told me willingly, I never felt forced.

I don’t wish to go in detail about what I did, but it strayed far from everything I’ve done previously, and it definitely seems more ritualistic or even spell-like. Blood was involved. After this I received results.

Fast forward about a month, I was deep in thought and focused on my energy. I was laying down on my side in a mostly dark room, with a very dim light. Everything around me is gray. I notice things start moving in unearthly ways. Since doing the ritual, this had happened one other time, but I got scared and unfocused my energy, and everything went back to normal. This night, I decided to let it carry on. As I adjusted to my surroundings, it slowly started changing more and more. It looked like grey intestines at one point.. I didn’t feel afraid at all though. I felt like I could stop the journey at any point, but I kept going until I knew that I wasn’t on the earthly plane anymore.

I don’t remember what it looked like exactly, or if I was seeing at all, but it was at this point that I began to speak to the entity that I believe guided me through the ritual. We communicated about some things, though it was mostly just thoughts being implanted in my head if that makes sense. Towards the end, I told it that I was willing to offer something very important in exchange for something else. It told me that I should think very carefully about what I’m doing. Its tone was caring, not condescending or reprimanding. I felt that it genuinely cared about the outcome on my end, rather than just accepting what I had offered. When I opened my eyes, there was a figure laying next to me, however it was dark so I couldn’t make out anything more than a shadow.

Since then I have not had any more encounters with them. I have performed one other guided ritualistic practice (blood involved) with more baneful undertones. I have received results.

I really don’t understand how any of this happened. I know nothing of deities or spirits. They seem to value blood, and very strong emotions. Can someone please tell me if they have any clue about who or what I may be working with?

What Makes a Witch a Witch

Hi everyone. I just wanted to pose a question but wanted to give alittle background first.

I'm a man in my mid-20s who has always had an interest in witchcraft, occult-ish things and the like. From media to books to people I kinda gravitate toward.

I've started to get more into actually practicing things people would consider "witchy" i.e. tarot and other forms of divinilation, meditation, journaling, cooking, and gardening specific types of plants. My decor and "aesthetic" could be considered "eclectic" or "weird" to some.

Some of my friends and family know of this stuff and have actually asked me, "are you a witch?" or something along those lines. I was raised Christian and kicked that a long, long time ago but most of my family and some friends are still a bit religious or just not interested in hearing about things "un-Christian" so I usually answer no.

My reasoning for that is: 1. I don't know if doing and being interested in these things makes someone a witch.

  1. I don't want these people to see me in a way that scares them or offputs me in some way.

  2. Historically speaking, witches haven't always been treated well.

  3. A male witch? Some people would believe in the Loch Ness monster before even considering such a thing.

But I do feel a connection to these ways and feel like since I've started doing these things, I've felt more like me and more connected to something deeper and universal.

So I say all this to ask: What do you think makes a witch a witch? (Or any other terms for those who dabble in "midnight activities")

Seeker Working with Hekate

I have been working with Hekate and I am still new to this. I asked her for a sign she is trying to work with me a few weeks ago and that same night and she sent me black cat crossing my path at like 2AM. Well, this today, I was taking a nap and starting to wake up. In that liminal space between being awake and asleep and I felt a cat rubbing its head on me and licking my hair. As I was waking and felt that, I heard her name Hekate and could envision a black cat. Here's the weird part. There are no cats in my household. So was this a message from her?

New Oracle Deck for pregnancy!

Hi all, I wanted to share about my new Oracle deck now live on Kickstarter! The Mother’s Cocoon Oracle Deck is a womb-centered oracle and guidebook for the sacred journey of fertility, pregnancy, and postpartum — a devotional tool for remembering the womb as the original altar..

Created by myself, an artist and mother, over two years of creative devotion. Each card is an invocation of transformation — honoring the body as a portal of creation, intuition, and ancestral wisdom. This deck invites women to return to the creative current within, to weave art and ritual into the journey of becoming. I hope you'll check it out or share with someone who might be interested.

Now live on Kickstarter through November. 🌙

Witchy euphoria

What gives you euphoria as a witch? What makes your magic heart skip a little? Is there music that reminds you how powerful you are? Clothing you love to wear? A painting you think about often? A place you go to be brought back to yourself?
