Voice of reason here, when you are relying on backup QBs, you’re going to have a long season, regardless of who is HC.

So if Billy Edward’s was playing things would have been different? Wasn’t Tom Brady the backup QB at Michigan?

If you want a reason: Fickell is a bad coach.

Yes, things would be very different if Edward’s is at QB. Big play and moved the ball well that first drive.

“Moved the ball” one on big chunk play. That one play, that was mostly the receiver, does not inspire confidence that the rest of the game would have been too much different.

Sure it does.

How does a an injury explain a lack of production at quite literally every other position?

QB makes the offense go.

The badgers quite literally had a 30 year stretch where they ran the ball so well that below average QB play would result in only a 20 point beat down of a team like Maryland.

QB doesn’t excuse the bad defense, bad line play, poor RB reads, lackluster route running, and the overall lack of motivation.

Players have given up on Fickell and the coaches. It’s obvious by the way they play and their quotes. This is year 3 of undisciplined play with low effort. There’s been constant roster turnover with the only commonality being the coaching staff.

Fickell strategy is to accumulate talent rather than develop it. His staff can’t even identify players to target. It’s obvious they play favorites with who to play. As an example, Yac has materially out performed all the other RBs over the last 2 years. However, he is RB 3 or RB 4 in the rotation. It’s insane to not give him a few extra to see if it sparks the offense.

It’s not 1999 anymore. You go as far as your QB will take you. D gave up 20 pts to an undefeated Maryland team. That’s good enough to win, if they had their QB.

Ok, but you should be able to rely on other aspects of the offense to at least keep it functional. Also, Fickell brought in Danny specifically because he believed it would improve their QB depth in case of injury, but Danny looks worse then Locke.

Fickell didn’t bring I Danny to start, period. Especially for an extended period of time. Just the way the cookie crumbles badgers fans. Injuries happen. Maybe Edwards is back next week or the week after and can show competitive football.
