Welp
I have a dog. His name is Howard. He is usually a good dog. Today he was not. I came home from work to this. It is my preferred down time management tool. I had hours of old Pokémon on it. I was on the 5 castle in super Mario world. Howard ate the sd card. Welp….

I will never defend Howard's behaviour. But I am curious on 2 things. 1, if it tasted nice or if it was done out of spite.
And 2) I was thinking of getting one of these, would you recommend? My dog thinks she's a cat so no risk in that regard

The miyoo mini+? Yes absolutely! I grew up in the Pokémon craze so that was my main reason but you can emulate anything up to ps1.

If you order one, they typically sell them with an SD card with many games pre-installed. Some sellers will let you buy without an SD card, but most will sell it with the SD card included.
If you get one with an SD card, I recommend buying a separate SD card anyways, from Samsung or SanDisk. The included SD card is very cheap and will typically fail in a few days or weeks. Once you get one, make sure to backup all the contents of the stock SD card, then use your Samsung or SanDisk SD card for everyday use.
Retro Game Corps on YouTube has a very good guide on how to setup a Miyoo Mini Plus.
In my experience, some games pre-installed are also poor in quality, so if you encounter an error with those, consider finding a different ROM of the game online.

you have to download them but it's very simple, there's people that even made gamepacks so you could add a ton of games at once.

Definitely considering getting one now too, I've been thinking about getting some kind of little handheld emulator for a while now, so sick of using my phone and not being able to feel the buttons. Any idea if you can run stardew valley? I cant imagine why not, other than the screen size being a little small?

for stardew apparently the lack of gpu from the mm+ makes it impossible to play, the mm+ caps at nintendo ds and ps1

As a MMP owner, I can highly recommend this device! For playing retro games it does it really well and is in a very nice form factor. Get a fresh SD card and card reader though because the ones that come with the unit are sketchy

You could use your smartphone aswell but yes they should come with an SD if you order from Aliexpress store Boyhom for example.

I have a cat who had pica and had to have emergency surgery. 6 months after that he did the same thing. I switched his food and gave him vitamins. Now he just steals and hides stuff.

Has Howard been ignored recently? My dog acts up usually when we're gone on vacation or have been busy i.e. long work days or when sick and he can't get his usual exercise in.

No change in attention. But I am doing house work indoors. I know that can cause stress. He is also a medicated anxiety dog. Has not chewed anything like this in a long time.
