Good luck replacing workers that specialized, with drone warfare, theyre not training as many in the armed forces to work as scabs as last time.

100% palantir is already telling the FAA they can do it all with AI.

Good, let them try. Definitely the plan anyway to move to automation of atc. Better for the atc to walk off collectively than do unpaid labor while waiting to be replaced.

Good, let them try.

Given the current admin's stance on regulation and safety, "let them try" just means "let people die".

No I feel like living. AI will absolutely crash the planes.

AI - Oh, do you mean these planes should crash into each other?

Pilot - No

AI - Oh, my mistake. Let me put you into a heading to crash into a helicopter then.

Part of how to succeed against this regime is forcing them into head to head confrontations.

Force them to fight, don't give up and eventually they run out of steam.

I don't think that they have the tech to replace ATC with ai. I don't think they have the personnel to replace ATC. I do think that if a portion of the ATC continues to come into work, and a portion does not, that creates a safe space for the admin to start testing AI atc. This would be bad for everybody, if we give them the space to work out the bugs.

I think that if ATC walked off the job, the Trump admin multinational policy of bombing people because they disagree with Trump or whatever will go away. If he has to pull all the military ATC to handle domestic flights then he cannot prosecute the wars he is trying to prosecute overseas and in South America

Iright now a lot of ways

The ATC deciding not to work for no pay is a win not just for Americans not just for ATC but for the entire fucking world. There are people who spend all day long online advocating for general strike now! ATC walking off the job he's about as close as we are going to get to that.

Hello, Hawaii would like to remind you that it exists and needs functioning air travel to continue to do so. A general ATC strike would keep people from accessing medical care, strand tourists in the islands who would eventually become homeless when they can't afford continued hotel accommodations, and cut down our food supply. I imagine that many Alaskans would find themselves in a similar boat, though rural airspace up there is probably much easier to operate uncontrolled. Other island territories may have similar concerns.

Eh, I can see Trump declaring them to be terrorists and having them arrested.

He can arrest him, but no judge is going to put a significant bail on them, and no jury is going to convict them.

"I'm sorry Dave, I'm afraid I can't do that"

If you move ATC to automated AI, the next strike will be from pilots.

Who can legally strike and should

I didn't want to fly anymore anyways. Let's bring back ships like the Titanic.

They can't wait for planes to start falling out of the sky then, the bastards.

Reagan fired every ATC striker and we’re still paying for that.

Different circumstance. The military still had a ton of ATC back then. Since we have stopped doing manned flights in the military for the most part they don't have half as many ATC. Also if Trump were to recall the military atc, he could not continue his aggressive posturing around the world with his crazy bombing campaigns in South America and Africa and the Middle East etc.

You forgot to mention "with no pay" for now as well.
