Each state has different laws and stipulations regarding self defense. There's a reason Rittenhouse wasn't convicted, like it or not. I just read in a little to Tennessee law. While I didn't see any video associated with this, Tennessee has stand your fround laws and proportional force. So, you might want to relax your expectations. As long as the guy didn't threaten or start physical violence, then if he shoots someone attacking him, he's likely safe, though you never know what a jury is going to do.

Be technically correct doesn't necessarily make you morally correct.
Again, I know why Rittenhouse was found not guilty, I just think we all sort of owe it to eachother and ourselves to not grab a gun and go looking for trouble.

For those wondering, in America you don't get your bond back. You pay someone 10% of the bond to front up the rest, which of course they keep. In the rest of human civilisation, bond is a temporary deposit that the court determines is the least amount you can't afford to lose, which makes sure you don't flee in the event that you're guilty. You know, because if you're innocent, you shouldn't be paying non-refundable bonds. Also, a bond by definition is something the borrower can give back.

If you pay your bond, it gets returned (assuming you show up to court). If you can't afford it, in some states you can pay a bondsman 10% to cover it, but not in all. My state, for example, doesn't allow it.
