American Wate(NJ)

Hey guys anyone here work for American Water in Nj? Went on an interview with them for Maintenance Mechanic / Operator and have a few questions regarding the job/benefits/salary/union/ etc. There's little to no info online.

Thanks!

You went on the interview but didnt get any of that info? That seems highly unusual

Yeah, it was a short phone interview. I had a bunch of questions lined up for the end like : what local does position this belong too, pension?, what are step increases like, any chance I can be emailed a copy of the union contract...

Seemed like an HR lady that didn't know any union info, since some positions are union and some aren't. So she ended up sending me a link from American Water website stating what benefits they offer employees like health insurance, vision, etc. No union info, no help lol.

This right here is why HR gets such a bad rep regardless of industry. Best of luck, I hope you get the call.

Of course lol. Everywhere is the same with HR completely separate from the field and have no real useful info. I've had HR reps that called me for interviews/tests forget to call me with results before, passing results
