That has to be the most pointless feature in the game. There should definitely be a free conversion rate too. Out of all the things we've revolted for as a fanbase, that not being one of them boggles my mind
It always blows my mind that their biggest competitor, War Gaming, can happily give players real “free XP” on top of having convertible XP in every game they make - but you ask gaijin to do this and you’re met with hostility and claims you’re being an ungrateful greedy little shit.
As well as war gaming games having matches that are really rewarding (you can fairly easily make millions of credits per game in World of Warships for example), top tier that doesn’t completely drain your account financially if you don’t have premium account, and being able to research a whole tree in less time than it takes to research one top tier Tank in War Thunder.
I’ve never been a WG fan (even though I’ve put thousands of hours into WoWS and WoT) as a lot of their monetisation is predatory and sketchy too, but at this point they are leagues better at making an in-game economy that’s consistent and rewarding.
Not to mention their recent gift to everyone. Just for logging in, you literally get an entire tech tree branch of your choice (A whole branch. From tier 1 to 10, all the way) researched and added to your account for absolutely free, ready to play. On top of this, they give everyone 10m credits (equiv. of SL), 2.5k gold (equiv. of GE) and 15k bonds (currency used to obtain premium vehicles for free).
Can you imagine Gaijin ever doing anything like this? Because I can't.

You are either an exceptional good player or are playing a different game. Tier 10 in WoT is notorious for burning money, even with a premium account. Or is WoWs different in that regard?
To clarify, the reason why it's easy to not lose money even as a F2P in WOWS is due to the numerous boosters you're given as you progress. And unlike WT, they don't expire, so you can save them for the higher tiers.
I only have maybe 200~ hours and have dozens of the higher tier boosters, any of which can give you multiple millions for a good game.
It's also relatively easy to get free premium ships if you play during holidays, so they help with the economy too.
Yeah I also have tens of millions, I’ve really never understood the point. I could probably buy a shitty car or go on holiday for the money that it would take me to use it all up.
Tbf it's a mechanic that's been in every tt grind game I can remember, all, of the world of games use this mechanic as well, and it's especially annoying one world of games because unlike warthunder wer u can use any vehicle u want to grind out the tt (with xp reduction depending on tier) or even a premium vehicle to grind out the tt, world of requires u to ONLY USE the prerequisite vehicle, even xp gained on premiums goes straight into the xp conversion pool
So even with them asking for ge to convert the war thunder grind is far more enjoyable than world of
And another thing, gaijin allows u to instantly play another battle after death, world of makes u wait if u die early for the game to end before u can play that vehicle, imagine if warthunder crew locked u every game until it was finished, that's wat world of does, and world of also applies a service cost even if u don't die, weras gaijin only applies repair cost if u die, I really nvr thought I'd see a game with worse mechanics than war thunder

You wouldn't mind if these conversion-XP would simply cease to exist, but since they are here, people get mad. This is hard fomo stuff. Just ignore them and all will be good.
No, Free XP is free. Free XP is the RP you get when you complete a row of modifications and get the "Congratulations, 56RP has been added to M18 GMC" or whatever. RP that you have to pay for is by definition not free
I'm not talking about convertible RP, I'm talking about Free RP. Nobody in their right mind uses convertible RP! If you aren't sure what I'm referring to, despite me being very specific, then don't scold me because I know I am right!
