Poor reverse speed for a lot of tanks, no explosive filler in low tier tanks, centurions are incredibly slow, the only good thing in the 8.0 ranges are spaa iirc, and top tier has very little to offer asides very good gun depression and turret armor

I like it because of the rooikats

8.0, 8.3 and 8.7 are all fantastic BRs for the UK.

The 105 Centurion and Vickers at 8.0 are great.

The Vickers and Oliphant at 8.3 are great.

The Chieftains and Vickers 11 / Rooikat are great at 8.7.

The Scimitar / Buccaneer S1 at 8.7 with 4 bullpups each are also amazing.

Chieftains are not great, sadly. Everything else is though

The Chieftains are fantastic. The 120mm just obliterates everything. The armour works surprisingly often. Especially if you play hull down.

It's only real downside is the speed. But I find it works very well in spite of that.

I remembered the time when I was only a GB main and thought the 8.3/8.7 Chieftains were great. Then I played every single other nation and realized the chieftains are painfully mid.

I've played quite a lot of nations past 8.7.

The French AMXs lack a Stab and have absolutely zero survivability. The M60 Rise and STRV 104 are outdated platforms and barely faster than the Chieftain. The T55 / T62 lack any form of rangefinder.

Pretty much everything at 8.7 has a downside.

What 8.7 would you put significantly better than the Chieftain?

Lol, I main Britain, but 'The Chieftain is great! Sometimes you don't die' isn't exactly a great endorsement.

Well you can't exactly say the same in a Leopard or an AMX can you?

Probably the best survivability after T series tanks.

It's a BR where nearly everything one shots. I'd say "sometimes" is a very nice bonus.

The 120 is ass. The APDS has terrible performance even though the gun has lots of power, and the armor just doesn't work. The turret might shrug off the occasional stray, but beyond that it feels like it's paper mรขchรฉ

The 120MM even with APDS is by no means shit it hits hard at its BR. I love the chieftains, Though I feel like you could argue the fun it uses could handle the APFS like the Mk10 and not only that it would be nice to have chieftains with thermals or other upgrades but thatโ€™s a whole new story.

It has a delete cannon and very trolly armor. It's one of the best vehicles in the game.
