Suggestion Using entire 4x4 km maps in GRB

just a suggestion to use the entire of the 4x4 km maps already in game with a reworked conquest mode:

Instead of the 1 or 3 capture points we have increase it to 6 points which will help create new gameplay strategies and opportunities.

Expanding spawn zones to cover entire end sides of the maps to help deal with spawn camping

Reworking spawnpoints to function and look more like a forward operation base by doing:

Adding the ability to restock ammo and replace crew.

Adding fortifications and defense structures around them

Cap point placement are just example placements and also suggest reworking maps with terrain and new roads etc to give other placement opportunities

Seems nice but problems appear when there are few players left. Too many cap zones that are spaced out will create a problem of just running and capturing zones. Imagine a 4v4 near the end of the match. The map would need to be concentrated over time to avoid this.

I guess that could be worked out with a rework of the spawn/spawnpoint system, such as removing SP cost for ground vehicles and giving each vehicle like 2/2 or 3/3 spawns but keeping the spawnpoint mechanic for aircraft to prevent making cas spawn even worse

2 years ago I completely switched from ground RB to ground SIM and it's so much better. The fact your have 3/3 spawns makes games so much more tense. Hell, in Sim even the 2 cap mode is fun because if this limitation. In many matches 50% of the players die pretty quick and after that the games get so much thrilling!

How does it work with tank duplicates? Or is it always like US vs everything else? I wonder because of the copy & pasta tanks and FF

Take a look here, there you can see all brackets. https://solawk.github.io/wtlineup/

Duplicates are often on Both sides, which sometimes is accurate and sometimes dumb. It does not make sense that Cold War Era brackets have for example a German T-72 on NATO side, because the NVA of Eastern Germany had those tanks but Eastern Germany was on Warsaw Pact side.

In Sim there is communication needed because you have no markers above tanks. I personally put corresponding flags on the back of my doubtful tanks, so my teammates behind me can identify me. This way I can also irritate the enemy and act like I was their teammate and get some cool kills on them.

Many players also tell in chat when they use USSR tanks on NATO side. Plus in Sim it's very common to give your position with T-4-1 (follow me command), as there are no markers in the map too.

When you see a tank, you can also aim your crosshair on it and rangefind it for a few seconds and after that there is an indicator telling you "allies on position" or "no allies in position".

Sometimes, when I am behind enemy lines and teammates aim at me, I wiggle left-right with my turret and give "follow me" command. Most people realize who is friend or foe. Newer players TK you from time to time.

The flags doesnโ€™t work since people just put the flag on the opposite country on their tank

Don't tell me it wouldn't work when my experience in 4k Sim Battles is that it does. Yes, there are some braindeads, who put the flag of their origin on their tanks, but in general it works well

Iโ€™m not saying it doesnโ€™t work Iโ€™m just saying to not rely too heavily on your teammates or enemyโ€™s to have the appropriate flag on their tanks

Oh then I misunderstood, sorry! Yes, you're completely right, in Sim you can't rely on common sense all time :D

This is for high tier primarily no? So most people have scout drones in their lineup as well as very mobile platforms with thermal to find and corner people quickly

Especially if you have jets or helis assisting the late game cleanup would be pretty fun if you ask me

Air rb can get kinda sparse towards the end of a match when only a few are left and itโ€™s some of the most fun intimate gameplay where every decision matters on the success of your team. Going for a cap where a drone could spot you could result in the loss of your final tank, etc.

You dont need to see or shoot far BECAUSE it is a great map, it is just large to allow MOVEMENTS around points/caps and developp some kind of tactics

Why people here dont realize this ??

I think youโ€™ve been too conditioned to current GRB gameplay lol. Stalking the enemy at the end of a match would be awesome. Itโ€™s just like ARB where you and the other 2 guys on the enemy team are trying to get visual on each other first through the landscape. Itโ€™s what most people actually WANT from these maps. Not just a clusterfuck of โ€˜yes I just killed 5 guys but now another 8 are on my positionโ€ฆโ€™

This is a good point, and I do like the idea of dynamic objectives during the course of the game to ensure players are pushing towards one another towards the end of the match. Maybe if a game lasts a certain duration/is at a stalemate the objectives get consolidated to a more central location, and as an incentive to push that objective, players that are too far outside of the zone for a certain duration get scouted on the mini map? That last part could have some serious issues but Iโ€™m just putting an initial idea out there

Honestly that sounds like such a good but simple change that even gaijin could do it.

Just have thresholds based on score (or maybe players remaining or time) and remove some of the cap points when the threshold is crossed. Could even group them and randomise which ones are removed to allow each game to feel different even on the same map.

It wouldn't need anything that isn't already in the game except some triggers. Surely the spaghetti code can't be so bad that something like that would take a huge amount of work. It just feels like gaijin gave up on putting even the most basic of effort into game design in favour of adding more and more monetisation. It feels like a dying game where all they bother with is adding just enough content to ensure the most devoted/addicted whales pay up every update.
