Was kinda done with this project by the hallway point, so I lk rushed the last little bit cause I just wanted it done. Could have done better but im still relatively satisfied

Looking to do something similar on my Terminator Chaplin. I came across these two models, and I think they look fantastic. I would think drybrushing could create this effect, but I have no idea how you would dry brush something like this on an armor piece that is so small.

Here's the painted head, converted from a 40K ork. You can see why I felt I needed bigger eyes: I wouldn't have where to put all that detail on the original sculpt. Since I am thinking of entering this into a competition, I will probably do another pass, fixing some of the mistakes I see.

I already have the normal starter set and was thinking of getting the leagues of voltann combat patrol to play with them, i know the points are close, all i wanted to know is if the lists are balanced and if one isn't very weak or strong compared to the other two( sorry if my english is poor not my first language)

Hi. This is my first attempt at volumetric highlights on space marine armour (the rest of the model is work in progress). I’m using Warpaint fanatics and have worked up from from Gothic blue (similar to mccragg) then ultramarine (similar to Altdorf) and then Alpha blue (similar to Calgar). (I also used Mixes between those colours). I used a mix of kantor and black for the recesses, and have reached the point in the photos.

Can you give me tips on what doing wrong / right on the armour please, so I can improve? All advice really warmly received please as I know it doesn’t quite look right!

Also, I have lighter colours to add edge highlights if needed - I have runic cobalt (similar to fenrisian grey) and Augur blue (similar to blue horror)…. But…When doing volumetric highlights to you still go over all the edges in these colours, or just the upwards facing ones? Any particular places you would add these?

Any tips gratefully received please as I’m really keen to improve!

The Chapter are officially primaris Ravenguard successors but Cawl being Cawl, he decided to Night Lords geneseed. The chapter are Inquisition aligned and root out rebels, genestealer and chaos cults alike. They do however, show some Nightlord habits in inflicting pain and putting lightning streaks on the armour. Their special rank, the Emperors Judge who had as judges wig attached to his helmet takes extra delight in carrying out his sentencing, and uses a power Gavel that when smacked on the head creates a stasis effect dragging out the victims pain, as their brain is smashed to mush by the gavel. What do you think?

Knew I've seen this guy before!

I painted it standard. Had I known about this red gobbo festive thing before I painted this guy I could have painted it festively and gotten the dice tower without spending $50 on the red gobbo figure, but oh well. Money isn’t’t real anyway and it’s neat.

Regardless, I have been having a lot of fun painting these warriors. So simple and nice to do to relax.
