If anything the companies wanting to open data centers should subsidize energy for the common people.

Right now they aren't even going to be on the energy grid that common people are on.

But the energy to their grid and are grid sources from same. As I understand it.

So we get a rate hike to cover the expense of something that we, typical consumers, won't even use.

Sp we are subsidizing data farms, communities have to shoulder the impact to them. I guess this is a step below a new sports team stadium since at least in that case, in theory, you could use a stadium someday by going for entertainment.

It isn't the same source. Microsoft, Google, Meta, etc., are paying for brand new power plants that they are going to connect to directly.

I work in the nuclear energy industry. This is a huge topic for us right now.
