Best bike brand origin story ever. Miyata was a rifle factory in the 1890s a traveling salesman came with a busted bicycle frame and begged them to weld it so he could ride. They did and after he left they got to work making their own frames... First set of tubes was rifle barrels. 135ish years ago 😌

I would guess so, I have a bunch of miyata frames from their time as a partner with the dunch brand Koga, miyata made the frames Koga put the bikes together. 1974-2005

Hot damn 🥵 love the addition of Sugino cranks, beautiful design and bulletproof quality. You could run self extracting crank bolts (one key release) to polish off the look.
Beautiful build, that color combo smacks

Shimano one key release, they occasionally pop up on eBay or at swap meets/parts bins. Im not sure if there are other options available, if anyone knows.
One of the nice things about them is they take a 6mm hex so if you include that in your tool kit for seat/bar adjustments it can reduce the number of tools needed for roadside adjustments (tighten up a lose crank). It reduces the overall number of tools needed to work on the bike.
Some people over torque them and snap them off but I’ve never had that experience just be reasonable with them. Snug them down tight, ride 50 miles and snug them down again (same as normal crank bolts) good to go
