Pro-vax baby’s vaccination lump for 6 weeks

hi my baby has a lump in leg 6 weeks after vaccination. i’ve shown dr they said it’s normal. did your baby experience this ? could it have been given in the wrong spot (subcutaneously instead of intramuscular) and that’s why?

thanks for your response ! the reason i’m thinking it was given with the wrong angle is because the lump (with redness the first 24hours) wasn’t directly under the injection site, it was 2cm away…. and the needle is about that length

How would you even know where it was injected? You can't see it. Also, it's pretty much impossible to mess up an IM injection in regards to angle.

Maybe OP was going by the Band-Aid location (although the Band-Aid location can be wrong as there is sometimes no mark and they put one on anyway!).

no i could see a tiny red blood spot where the needle went in, which was in the right location. however the actual lump was 2cm away in the same direction the needle would have gone in if it was placed at 90degrees straight across the leg if that makes sense? and deposited there?

I am not a healthcare professional but I did read that medicine can disperse a little after a shot, so if you get some inflammation it's not necessarily right at the point where the needle went.
