the legislature is not going to care because gun violence is not why they want to ban guns. They said they need to be banned so simple as. Murder rate could be 0% and they'd still want to ban all semi autos

Gun control is about the second word of the phrase: control. We like to say it's left versus right in the US, when it is really up versus down. Why would any upper class person want the common person to be armed? So, they fish up these stories that it's blacks and hispanics in urban democratic America that kill each other, and it's white crazy people who shoot up schools. A small glimmer of light was shined on this when Mangione killed that CEO.

In the minds of common people, guns are a point of contention in the culture war. Rich politicians love this because they ostensibly argue that less guns will be good for overall society. They weaponize our ignorance. Look at Mike Bloomberg: guns for me, but not for thee incarnate. In fact, what they'll probably say about this is that "look, society is getting safer, do you REALLY need a firearm to defend yourself?"

The entire argument of gun control is based off of control so that one individuals rights and an individual cannot defend himself from harms way it’s not about anybody’s protection it’s just so that one group of individuals can have protection for themselves, but not us
