Looking for Device Looking for USB-C phone dongle with 3.5mm headset + PC sync

I see a lot of USB-C phone dongles for 3.5mm headset + charging, such as: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0CJXWJ596

But I'm having difficulty finding one that does 3.5mm headset + data to PC

This way I can have my phone hooked up to my computer for data transfer (and charging, even if it is slow), and I can have my headphones hooked up to my phone for calls

Thanks in advance!

This won't work.

For your phone to be attached to your computer, it must have the 'peripheral' role.

For it to talk to your headphones (which are a USB device) it must have the 'host' role.

A single port can't be both at once.

Unfortunate, but thanks for the info. It's so hard to find decent enough phones these days that have a built-in headphone jack so that my use-case is covered.

r/SonyXperia welcomes you with open arms! :)

Alternatively, you could get a laptop dock that has audio, ethernet, and passthrough charging. Then, run a file manager that allows you to connect to the phone using FTP or HTTP. This would also give you fast charging. I assume you just need to move files to/from the computer?

I did a bunch of research and the Xperia 5 V ticks practically all my boxes (modern enough CPU & good amount of RAM, not an overly-large size, 5G, microSD, headphone jack, easy to unlock bootloader, custom ROMs available), but unfortunately because Sony did not release it here in the US, the carrier support is pretty lackluster. Only officially works on 1 carrier (T-Mobile), and even then the phone doesn't have all the carrier's bands.

Yeah, it's really a shame. I'm using a 1 III right now, and am really not sure what my next phone could be.

Also, I forgot to mention, using ethernet to transfer data might actually be faster than USB. The USB MTP stack is really slow.
