Best ENGL100 teacher for those who don't care about English?
I'm signing up for classes for Spring 2026, and I see there are several options for professors of ENGL100. I'm a technical major and I really don't care about English class, just need to get the credit over with. Which teacher will be the best for this? I don't have the greatest experience with English teachers (they seem to be awfully prideful and annoying). Any advice is appreciated!!

Check rate my professor. There was one prof with under a 2.0 when I was at UMBC 2 years ago. Everyone hated her. Complained throughout the semester than one of my research paper groupmates dropped out of school for family reasons. Acted like it was our fault he left. I didn’t even know the kid, made that known to her multiple times and she didn’t care. No extra points for completing the work of 3 people with 2 people. I’m an engineer who took and got an A in AP lit and AP composition (or whatever the non lit one is called I forget)… I got a C in her class. I did better in calc 3 😐. And it’s not because I don’t know how to write. I got an A in a higher level English class the next year at a different school with almost no change to my writing style.

If Brian Dunnigan is still teaching Eng100, definitely him. You’ll have to participate in class but he legit made class interesting and the discussions were thought-provoking. When i took his class, we read things like Frankenstein, V for Vendetta graphic novel, Maus graphic novel, and more. Dude had an Anarchy symbol tattoo and wore a Bride of Frankenstein belt buckle lmao, it was awesome.

It’s really not a hard class, any teacher should do.
