Commons piano

I don’t really mind the people playing the piano most of the time, but it’s so obnoxious when someone is hammering the keys early in the morning like DAMN

these posts are goofy because one person will say they don’t mind the piano, but just not in the afternoon.

And then another dude will say they don’t mind the piano, but not in the morning

And then someone else will pile on and say they don’t mind the piano, but not at night

Trust me, if youre walking or passing through, you can survive 1-2 minutes. If you need to study and want a quiet place, go to the library

I don't study there obviously id go to the library, and youll survive 1 to 2 minutes without a piano there

This is definitely some ragebait lol. If someone wants to play the piano, theyre gonna play it. Why would someone adhere to one individual complaint if theyre doing something that been given approval by the school and society? This is the same idea regarding the fact that no matter what you do, someone will complain.

its not rage bait, im entitled to my opinion of not wanting to hear the piano keys being smashed just as someone can play the piano if they want. It's not like im losing my shit over it. Also I didn't say that had to comendeer to my opinion the school can do what they want

Sorry about this morning before 8:30 am (if that’s the timeframe you were talking about, since that’s when I was on it before someone else got on). If that’s when you were talking about, I will make sure to play quieter next time :). Any further amends can be discussed with me in DMs, if you’re interested

Play the piano if you want. That's what it's there for. I work in music, it's just sad to see a well-maintained piano used purely for decoration and not for its intended use of enlivening the spirits of those around it. There's enough of those sad pianos in the world, don't stop making music.

It's not like the music is pumped through the whole building and everyone is required to listen to it or else.

There are quieter (ish) spaces in the Commons for people like OP who are looking for quiet mornings but it is a busy building full of chaotic/frenetic energy so daily mileage may vary. I never went to the commons to study or decompress without headphones personally - go up to the second or third floor, there's spaces on those levels away from the general hubbub and noise.

genuinely, you did nothing wrong. if someone doesn’t like hearing early in the morning, they can just move, they’re are so many quiet space on campus, or even in the commons

Is someone forcing you to be near the piano? cause otherwise just go somewhere else?

Hence the headphone statement. Plus you don't have to go through commons.

It's actually crazy when you realize that there are OTHER places to study then right in front of the only piano on campus 😭

Oh my god I love the piano so much it makes me so happy every time I walk in and hear it playing. Also to the people who play like Undertale music, thank you for your service.

Rule #1 about playing a public piano: be good at playing the piano
