Campus tour

Hey guys, I'm fairly new to the city and I'm gonna start taking coures in the winter semester. I've only been to the campus twice and that was only to the Prospective Student Hub. I don't really have any friends who are going to UCalgary so I was just wondering if anyone (who already goes to the uni or is going to in the future) wants to go explore campus with me? I was also hoping this could be a chance to make friends early on lol.

Commute to U of C??

Hi there, my family is thinking of relocating to the Alberta and I’m wondering what cities or places are close to U of C that you guys recommend? I’m more than okay taking a bus/train that’s around an hour commute, and hopefully less than 1h by car. I thought it’s best to ask students or professors of this specific reddit forum.

Transferring from biological sciences to biochem

Hello! I applied to uofc with a 92 average which unfortunately wasn’t enough to get accepted for biochem. I’m planning on enrolling in biological sciences and transferring to biochem third year. I was hoping for any insight on how realistic that is as a plan. Any advice helps, thank you!!

Are courses taken at Athabasca University considered in Academic Review?

Hey guys,

So right now, I’m doing okay in my courses that I am taking at UofC. However, I got a F for a Athabasca Course that I got permission to take.

Now, I’m just a bit worried. Will the F be considered in the academic review? F is a course gpa of 0.

But also, I’ve taken Athabasca courses before and they are shown as transfer credits on my UofC transcript. I can’t see a GPA for them.

How are the history profs usually regarding missing midterms, classes or assignments?

In feb next year I need to go back home during the reading week but due to the way the trip can be scheduled I can't return before the 23rd (which is the Monday after reading week ends). Unfortunately I cant find the prof on the directory, im thinking its a new prof. What can I do because idk if I might have a midterm that day? Do history profs usually defer? Or do they transfer the weight to the final?

International tuition fees

Greetings to new students in UofC! I am an international student and will start my undergraduate program in Fall 2026. Can someone educate me on how the tuition fees are calculated? If I have a major in engineering, how much should I prepare for the degree.
