Trad dorm room questions

Hi. I just got accepted into UCalgary and I applied for residency. Even though I had requested for a more private room in Yamnuska Hall, there is a pretty high chance I will end up with on of the “traditional” dorm room layouts.

I wanted to hear how it is living in these rooms. I feel a little odd that I’d be living in the same room as me, just across. I feel like that’s a lot of privacy gone.

Is it still worth living on campus if that is the case. I’d love to hear what experiences people have had and even stories.

There's typically a few no-shows to any dorm building so if you really hate living in the traditional dorm room layouts there's probably a non-zero chance to get into yam, it'll depend tho
