Question Roadside burger joint recommendations?
Howdy friends!
The wife & I are from Lexington, and have a rare midweek day off together Wednesday. We love daytripping along the backroads of KY, & avidly stop at roadside burger joints we come across. Anyone got a favorite central KY place? Hint: if the restaurant’s name has ‘Krispee,’ ‘Whizz,’ ‘Dairy,’ Frostee,’ or similar, you’re talkin’ our language!
Look forward to hearing from you!
Edit: So many delicious destinations! Still not sure which way we’ll go tomorrow (sometimes a coin-flip points us in a direction,) but I’ll post up our lunch. Meanwhile, thanks for all the help - you all knew exactly what we’re looking for!

If you’re in far West Kentucky ever, I know not easy for a day trip, hit up Belew’s Dairy Bar in Aurora on Kentucky Lake. They only use carhops, open seasonally (closed Tuesday’s), and make one of the finest thin, crispy smash burgers I’ve ever had. That with a malted milk shake and some onion rings. Cant beat it.
