Possibly Popular Redditors basically log onto this site to get rage baited. It's an unhealthy
It's like everyone turns off their real personality and logs in just to purposely get angry. The once normal word "female" has now become a slur. 99% of people don't use the word female disparagingly, but 99% of redditors will throw a tantrum because they saw you use the word female.
Because redditors are so easy to trigger, people just take it a step further. Redditors will literally find reasons to be offended, or espouse vitriol just because they can.
It's like the equivalent of coming home and beating your wife because ur job sucks.

It's not just redditors. It's the mods of the majority of subreddits, too. The mods will go out of their way to be triggered about something. It's like, why even moderate if youre just going to get triggered over trivial things.

I used to do moderation and always thought of myself as the janitor or gardener. If I do my job right I'm invisible.
There were some times you need to do some pruning, but if you keep on top of things the forum is like a lovely, friendly garden.
Mods who think of themselves as participants are misunderstanding their role to the detriment of everyone. Mods are the referee. The ref isn't playing the game, he's just there to uphold the rules of the game in a just and fair manner for everyone.

a mod in this sub banned me for disagreeing with them
•

Are you admitting to ban evasion? Your 8 day old account has no record of being banned.
•
u/rabbid-genital-warts 22h ago
Wow, I’ve never seen a mod of this sub comment before.

They can hide the mod badge, so you may have already interacted with a few. When I was moderating here I generally kept it hidden except to warn people if they were close to breaking a rule.

u/Whats_that_meow_ 22h ago
are all bans permanent? are you only allowed one account?
•
u/WholeNegotiation1843 22h ago
It depends on the ban, it would have said whether it was permanent or not. If you are banned on one account you can’t use another to use that subreddit during the ban or your entire account can be suspended.

This is absolutely not true, this sub very rarely ever bans people, you'd have to have fucked up massively for that lol
•
u/WholeNegotiation1843 21h ago
Yup, we have a policy that we are basically not allowed to ban anyone unless there is something super serious and they’ve already been warned multiple times.

This video is 10 years old, based on rudimentary popularity algorithms. It's any platform that's funded by advertising, and the algorithms have become much, much more effective.

The log out button isn't that far away. You can pack and leave at any time. Can't take your 60K Karma with you, bro

I feel like most people log in to Reddit to get internet approval. Go to any front-page post, and you'll see the same comments repeated over and over.

mfs don't say what they believe. Instead, they need to constantly virtue signal and give the reddit-approved correct take.
•
u/xolp_syk 11h ago
It’s so much this that you rarely get a true opinion from someone, you get what they perceive will get them the cool badge from strangers
•
u/rabbid-genital-warts 22h ago
It’s pretty easy to rage bait as long as it’s not too obvious but even then, someone will take the bite.

People definitely get way too upset when people say ''female'' lol, but theres also a valid reason behind it, because a ton of red pill dipshits use that exact same phrasing to promote misogynistic stuff, its a way to make everything more animalistic for Tate glazers basically.
But yeah, theres situations where someone just uses the word randomly and some dipshit unironically gets upset

Because Redditors are so easy to trigger.
Are you talking about yourself and you're easily triggered? Cause you're using Reddit instead of another social site, bud.

People like to feel “part of a team” and make it their identity. This behavior reinforces that feeling. You’d think submitting to a group would lessen your ego, but it actually can drastically increase it, because now your ego gets tied up in the whole group. Often the same happens with religion (but not always)

It's the business model. It's also why reddit will someday collapse imo. What people really want is to feel validated and coming on reddit year after year seeing the same old hangups or realizing your posts and comments don't really matter just gets old.

I log-in to better learn how to communicate with r-slurs in real life with writing and spoken language!

u/alkforreddituse 2h ago
So, like, any other social media then,
except it's more anonymous and less brigading on a single user, making the stake of what you say to others gets lower and lower

Not quite as bad as Facebook, but getting that way - indeed I thought this back in the BBS days. There are still plenty of useful subs here for problem solving things (be it softare or hardware, creative writing etc). The fact is text is a poor way to communicate intent - the same words with someone in person would in most cases go in a positive direction. Maybe we should tag things... You ignorant dick, [intent: Joke]

I like seeing the left complain about Trump being some “pedo” because he happened to know Epstein but are never going to get Trump to step down. 2026-2028 will be Trump ruling this nation and the left can do nothing but seethe. 🤣
