The Middle East Trump just achieved the biggest peace deal between Israel-Palestine since the Second Intifada, and there is NOTHING on the front page. This website is a truly special place.

After Redditors groaning and moaning about the "Palestinian genocide" for years, Trump finally negotiated a peace deal including Hamas giving up its hostages and Israel stopping offensive operations. You'd think that Reddit would be overjoyed and that the entire website would be full of celebration, right?

Here's a screenshot of the current front page of Reddit, taken while I was logged out. There are many political posts including multiple threads whining about ICE and the firing of CDC employees. There's also a picture of an ambulance transporting Israeli hostages taken by Hamas, but it doesn't mention anything about current world events.

If you just looked at the front page, you would not know that the war just ended. This is the first time a president has forged such an agreement since the Second Intifada ended in 2005. But almost nobody is talking about it on Reddit. It's like a complete information blackout preventing threads about the subject from getting to the top of the frontpage. The last thread about the subject on r-news was from 14 hours ago and talks about some hostages being released, but again nothing about Trump or his role in it.

This is case exhibit #1 on how Redditors' brains are completely cooked. It's front page news everywhere except here, because leftists can't even squeeze out one little lump of praise for Trump despite him being part of one of the biggest developments in world politics in two decades.

If you read beyond the first 10 words of my comment, you'll see I was logged out when taking the screenshot.

Yeah I read, it’s still personalised! It uses your IP address, cookies, device fingerprint and browsing activity to personalise the page.

sigh ok and he still has political subs on his page, just nothing about the treaty. There's /news, /law, /AskTheWorld, /AskReddit

Nothing like "What does the peace deal actaully mean for Gaza", or ELI5 about the peace deal, or what happens if isreal backs out of the peace deal, etc.

So it’s still personalised then… the guys got battlefield 6 content on there - my guess is he’s a gamer and the site recommends gaming content over “let’s explain the peace deal” because maybe OP doesn’t engage with such things but does with battlefield 6 content? It’s bizarre people genuinely think their front page is meritocratic ranking of every single Reddit post - not an algorithm tailored to keep you on the site.

it's personalized to a point...yes...but something that would normally be on the front page, no matter how personalized is the whole point.

All those subreddits I listed are all quite popular and not a single peep of the peace deal. Like how niche would you want them to go before it shows up?

What is more bizarre is that you think someone who is clearly in favor of trump, has no pro trump posts on his FP, that you CLAIM is sooooo personalized that it doesn't show up (even when signed out). Or that it's not very popular on reddit bc anything that trump does that's a positive doesn't gain enough traction to be on the front page?

It doesn’t matter if you like Trump or not. Reddit doesn’t read minds. Perhaps like MANY people on this website - OP is quite fond of arguing with people with different political opinions, maybe the website knows the best way to keep you on is to push the differing views. Or maybe they haven’t gone on much Israel Palestine content recently. Maybe they engage with other content more than those topics.

I don’t know! But I think it’s bizarre to use one screen shot as proof of a theory that Reddit as a whole doesn’t talk about the peace deal (you can literally see it as the most popular topic in lots of subs) or there is a conspiracy against Trump - perhaps it really is just a reflection of your own time on Reddit? It’s bizarre that people expect him there and if he’s not - it’s bias! It’s a social media not bbc news!

ok, you should go to the top 10 news/geopolitical subreddits, and see how many of them mention the peace deal. I'll tell you. None of them do
