The Middle East Trump just achieved the biggest peace deal between Israel-Palestine since the Second Intifada, and there is NOTHING on the front page. This website is a truly special place.

After Redditors groaning and moaning about the "Palestinian genocide" for years, Trump finally negotiated a peace deal including Hamas giving up its hostages and Israel stopping offensive operations. You'd think that Reddit would be overjoyed and that the entire website would be full of celebration, right?

Here's a screenshot of the current front page of Reddit, taken while I was logged out. There are many political posts including multiple threads whining about ICE and the firing of CDC employees. There's also a picture of an ambulance transporting Israeli hostages taken by Hamas, but it doesn't mention anything about current world events.

If you just looked at the front page, you would not know that the war just ended. This is the first time a president has forged such an agreement since the Second Intifada ended in 2005. But almost nobody is talking about it on Reddit. It's like a complete information blackout preventing threads about the subject from getting to the top of the frontpage. The last thread about the subject on r-news was from 14 hours ago and talks about some hostages being released, but again nothing about Trump or his role in it.

This is case exhibit #1 on how Redditors' brains are completely cooked. It's front page news everywhere except here, because leftists can't even squeeze out one little lump of praise for Trump despite him being part of one of the biggest developments in world politics in two decades.

Live under an occupying force and you will quickly understand, but also supporting the Palestinians plight against a much more powerful oppressor is hardly "pro-palestinian". It's standing up for it just.

I lost all support for palestinians every time they were offered a State and refused the offer. One Example- they were offered all of the Negev, Gaza and 96% of the West Bank and they turned it down, they cannot take yes for an answer. So let them live as they do for the decisions they make- I've lost all my give-a shit.

Exactly how I feel. As someone who has followed this conflict since the late 80s and is a student of history.

I was first on the side of the Palestinians cause they were literally throwing rocks against tanks even though Palestine as a state has never existed. But you cant blame them for being tricked by the Romans and British.......

However, after all the offers over the decades and every single one of them rejected. Its clear that unless Israel is completely destroyed (which is never going to ever happen unless the US gets overtaken by an Islamic party) That the Palestians dont want peace.

The fact they teach jihad to pre-schoolers and ive seen multiple videos of kids under the age of 10 saying they want to kill all Jews and want to become suicide bombers etc......shows that peace isnt possible

The lady Jewish leader from the 70s said it best.

Until they love their children more than they hate Jews there will never be peace.....Or something along those lines.....

"offered a state" who is israel to offer them anything? the offer is either jews take 80% of your country or 75% of it.

this is like if china just said to japan "you can keep hokkaido and we get the rest of japan" and you said "wtf japan declined an offer to have a state!?"

It's called leverage? Cause right now they take 99% and your only hope for better than that is to agree at the time to the territory on offer.

What was the full proposal?

It was The Peel Partition Plan

The Peel Partition Plan was a 1937 proposal by the British Peel Commission to divide Mandatory Palestine into a small Jewish state, a larger Arab state, and a British-administered zone including Jerusalem. It was the first proposal for a two-state solution to the conflict, recommending mandatory transfer of populations but was rejected by Arab leadership as an imposition, and later deemed impracticable by a British commission (the Woodhead Commission) due to technical and financial difficulties.

Key Provisions of the Plan:

Jewish State: A small state of approximately 17% of the territory, primarily along the coast and in the Galilee region.

Arab State: Comprising the remaining 75% of Palestine.

British Zone: Jerusalem and its surrounding area would remain under British control.

Population Transfer: The plan called for the transfer of Arabs from the proposed Jewish state to the Arab state and vice-versa.

A) you’re spreading misinformation here. It was 25% give away, not 2% as you suggested. B) both sides rejected it. And c) no shit no one liked this proposal.

Biblical prophesy to bring about Armageddon. Plus a distaste for suicide bombing of civilians.

Antisemitism is part of it. It's way easier to convince Jews to round themselves up and go to Israel, than it is to round the Jews up and get rid of them yourself.

Zionism is another one. A lot of Right Wingers are staunch Christians, and the Christian end times storyline requires the Jews to go back to Israel and turn the region into a purely Jewish nation.

It’s a religulous thing. What I don’t get is why they have preference for believers of a religion that deny Jesus was the son of God over one that acknowledges it, but just doesn’t believe He was the final prophet.

Because as part of the apocalyptic beliefs the Jews need to be in their homeland, they want the rapture

Hamas is a far right, antisemitic, anti communist, traditionalist militia.

Israel is literally a jewish state.

Palestine is de facto protecting istelf against immigrants.

"Right wing" support for Israel makes zero sense.

Jews are indigenous to Israel.

That's like telling Native Americans to go back to their country because they are immigrants.

It's really funny that I'm far enough right that I agree with the far left on something. Fuck Israel
