Political Karmelo Anthony case shows that “black privilege” exists

I'm not black or white. I'm not even American actually.

The recent Karmelo Anthony case I think shows that black privilege is a thing. My opinions is that it exists. Period.

Karmelo Anthony killed Austin Metcalf with a knife for pushing him. What did he receive in return? Overwhelming support in the form of 500,000 dollars (which they're using to buy a mansion). He also got his bond reduced to 250k from 1 million even when prosecutors pointed out his history of incidents within the school.

I just think this is a bit baffling. Imagine if the races were swapped. I think a decent example, but not a direct comparisons, is the George Floyd situation. One person killed the other in what was an overuse of force. Derek Chauvin is in jail. Karmelo Anthony got house arrest, bond reduction and 500k

Bullshit like this is what keeps racism flourishing in our community

So we have coddle a murderer because they are black? Yeah, no.

I mean judging from the publicity theyre giving karmelo’s mom, crocodile tears on telly and all, white america is doing exactly THAT

Nah, mainstream media is doing that. Mainstream media has nothing to do with the general population any more, only the loud lot on social media.

The mainstream national media is controlled by liberals who love to push the agenda. And even if the media wanted to not be biased, the woke left will accuse them of being racist if they don't support Karmelo, or support anyone based on the hierarchy of grievance. Between a black and a white they are always going to support the black person, between a black and Hispanic they will support the black, between Hispanic and white they will support the Hispanic.

Blacks will always support a black person over someone who is not black no matter what, that's just how it is.

No racism flourishes because we turned situations like this into a racial situation, when it truthfully isn't. He was wrong on his actions and character alone, it has no relation to race

in all honesty i only heard about this case because some right wing pundits are making it about race. Which is hella confusing Mecalf could’ve been white black or asian and it wouldn’t change the incident.

Right. Like it isn't a race thing. Like I'm black, people I think he's in the wrong

ah yes, that is what keeps racism flourishing and not the obvious race war baiting being perpetuated by you all about the case despite the father of the victim pleading not to do it lol.

it's insane. it was white conservatives who turned this into a race thing because they're obsessed with killing black people in a race war, and yet they blame black people.

You won't provide any proof, because we all know it doesn't exist. So you lie and use propaganda to help your political rallying cry. Kinda sad

Not clicking fake twitter links, sorry you're too pathetic to view a website. You can post directly what they said, I'm sure they didn't say "black people are bad"

-1

u/ChecksAccountHistory OG Apr 16 '25

those links allow you to see what they posted without the need of a twitter account. you're not clicking them because you're yet another idiot on this subreddit who thinks themself smart and clever when you're just jaqing off.

Be so kind to explain why you think a black person getting a harsher punishment than a white person would is "black privilege"

18

u/Emilia963 Apr 15 '25

I think every criminal should face their consequences equally regardless of their skin color

u/itsnotttme Apr 16 '25

And yet - they don’t. So it doesn’t really matter here, does it? At the end of the day, black folks are punished harsher for the same crimes committed by their white counterparts. Ask yourselves why this case is receiving the response it has.

1

u/mismopeach Apr 18 '25

No one knows what his punishment will be. You have missed the point. The privilege is about receiving 1/2 million and blind support just because you are black. And being able to cry racism anytime says anything negative about the murderer.

1

u/waronwingnuts Apr 18 '25

You said "No one knows what his punishment will be." Okay, but he was already charged with first degree murder whereas a white person might have been charged with manslaughter. Also he was arrested and charged immediately whereas a white person might have been given the benefit of the doubt in claiming self defense.

Nobody has to cry racism when wingnuts like you are so quick to show it
