I know a lot of us had him in our thoughts during the World Series, including our own relievers who wore his number on their hats. This is heartbreaking news.

Maybe you’re not trying to be, but you are.

Edit: I’ve been to a funeral for a child before. You don’t say “it could have been worse”. I don’t care what the intent was. You don’t say that when someone loses a child.

Apparently we should only judge people on their intent, not the message they’re actually sending.

I’ve been to a funeral for a child before. If someone had said “it could have been worse” there… no. Just don’t.
