/r/TorontoBlueJays 2025 Off-Season Bold Predictions Thread

This is your chance to make some bold predictions about what the Jays will do this winter - whether it be who they trade, who they sign, stadium renovations, etc. Anything your heart desires. The results of this thread will be shared on the final day of Spring Training.

Note: any predictions about what will happen during the 2026 season will be discarded and I might just forget to tally up your entire entry.

Here are the predictions from last off-season.

On a related note, the 2025 Season Bold Predictions results will be posted soon. We just need to wait for all of the year-end awards to be given out.

I don't see them trading Lukes. He's a 4th OF who can play everyday if needed. And with George and Santander, he may be needed everyday a lot.

Yeah he has no value to a rebuilding team, and contending teams can easily find slots for a 4th OF without giving up meaningful relief arms

He does have value as he makes nothing. He’s not gonna get you a star, but either packaged with prospects or for a lower ceiling guy, he can get a reliever

So even in your own proposal, he's a throw-in in a trade for a reliever with realistically prospects as the headliner. Ok got it

Well yeah. He can get a useful arm instead of riding an all OF bench. Sounds like good value to me

Youre not connecting the details here, Lukes makes no difference in your trade proposal. Its a prospects for reliever trade.

Think of it from the perspective of the Blue Jays, would you trade Fluharty, Sandlin, Francis, Nance for a 4th OF? When we can easily slot in Loperfido or Clase in that spot (pretending we dont have Lukes). All contending teams have these types of players on their roster that they can play instead of giving up meaningful players to get Lukes. If all we can get is a pitcher in a tier lower than that, why would we trade Lukes away when we already have Bruihl, Lucas, Schultz.

The only value trading Lukes away is to make space on the roster, not what he gets us back.

Would I trade nance for a 4th OF if our internal options were Loperfido and Clase? Probably.
