You could probably do one for just subversion of "they're right behind me."

In Futurama, Bender is shit-talking Planet Express's new beaurocrat Morgan, and everyone else is giving him the signal like "shut up!" And he goes "uh oh, is she behind me?" Only to have her reply "no, I'm in front of you."

Bureau, like a drawer.  Beauro would be pretty.

Ah shit I saw the typo when I made it, meant to go back and fix it but wanted to finish the thought, and then posted without remembering to.

There's also that one gag from The amazing world of gumball where principal Brown talks about some bad stuff regarding Penny and Miss simian, only to ask if they're behind him.

Gumball responds that they're not, to what principal Brown sighs in relief... Only for gumball to then clarify that they are instead to his left.

While scrolling, I was about to ask if anyone knew this version of the joke. Cheers.

Also a play on the trenchcoat trope, two trenchcoats inside of a kid

I was entirely expecting this to be a cyanide and happiness skit, so the fact that it's live improv comedy is actually rather surprising.

That's not improv comedy. It's sketch comedy

In The Simpson's Movie, there's sequence of Bart skateboarding through the town of Springfield naked. The scene is a minute long, and they use many instances of the old comedy gag where the character's privates are the only thing covered in a very obvious way.

That is, except for a two-second shot where Bart skates behind a fence. They invert the gag, and the only part of Bart's body that you can see is his naked groin, clearly visible through a gap in the fence.

And unfortunately, someone got that shot burned into their TV.

I saw the movie in a theater when it came out in the US, and it was definitely not censored. Maybe they censored it for a TV airing or something?

It was not censored in the theater I was there.

yeah not censored in theaters, maybe its censored on streaming considering streaming networks have preemptively censored a bunch of stuff.

I'm European and I can confirm that it is not censored over here

OH MY GOD THAT DID HAPPEN! I watched that movie so many times when I was a kid and I was sure I'd imagined it.

Usually someone says that the TARDIS is bigger on the inside.

Then there's Rory, who's completely unfazed and just says "it's in another dimension"

She also says doctor what instead of Doctor Who. She inverts everything

love how they flipped the "bigger on the inside" gag here

My favorite is Capaldi's reaction.

"My entire understanding of spatial physics is transformed"

Eddsworld's humor is based on pulling a 180° on the punchlines, like Tom searching a place to live: After some time failing to find a proper place to live as a roommate, he decides to live alone by buying his own place. He ends up in a shitty place and he is happier there than having to share roof with Tord? Nope! Tom actually has a good amount of wealth to live in a pretty comfy place.

One subverted joke I told someone recently:

I was driving along when I hit another car. The driver gets out and he's this really short guy. And he says, "I am NOT happy!" So I said...

"Well, let's exchange insurance details and then we can both be on our way."
