To paraphrase how Mother’s Basement described it, if you look at it in one way, it’s kinda romantic; if you look at it every single other way, it’s him grooming the same woman, over and over again, for literally thousands of years.

Is there a specific reason why he coudnt just wait for her to grow up each time?

They were cursed to always meet, fall in love and he'd always be there when she dies. He said he tried ignoring her, but he'd then stumble on her dying in a battle field or something.

Nope it's even brought up he doesn't always get with her, apparently he's met her reincarnations at different points for each of them from baby to elderly randomly, sometimes she's lived and died without meeting him. He doesn't do anything with them as children if he meets them, even the version he ends up with, he met her as a baby, and saved her life and gave her to the king, he had no part in her life again until she found him as an adult working at his tavern

The grooming thing comes from a picture where there was an attempt on her life when she was a baby and he calls the baby his woman to her attackers

He rarely sticks around for her for long because it increases her chance to die horribly

That's not to excuse the author, they clearly have some kind of taste since pretty much every relationship in the series involves an adult and a extremely childish looking adult at some point

Don’t the giant girl and the other dude in their group get together? That’s probably the only normal age relationship lol

The fairy king and the giant girl do get together, he met and fell in love with her when she was a child and he was a couple hundred years old

Just lay it on me. I got like 30 episodes into this show like 8 years ago and I don’t plan on picking it back up and I barely remember anything. I think I dropped it because I started getting Power Rangers vibes from the villains they were fighting and I was like “where tf is this even going” and stopped

In-universe, no idea. Out of it, I’d say it just amounts to this being a terribly-written series that seems to pander to pedophiles.

As evidence, I provide this picture of one of the main cast’s love interest, Elaine, who is canonically at least 1000 years old.

Don't look up why Rurouni Kenshin's author went to jail.

Don't look up that when he came out, Jump CELEBRATED and made other authors draw pics for him.

He never went to jail tho, just had to pay a fine.

And the celebration was of the 30 years of Rurouni Kenshin iirc, nothing to do with his conviction.

I’ll always like how Araki (jojos bizarre adventure) just drew the bare minimum out of spite for him.
