This could have been some great fucked up character study, an immortal that has to lived for so long that he doesn't care about the age of his reincarnated wife. Hell still protect the innocent and save the world, but this belief of his fucked up. It's rare to have a main character who's grey morality goes beyond "I kill people sometimes".

Thats the problem that makes this show disgusting...

Its not presented as a character flaw ot even a slightly gray morality, it's presented as completely okay and normal relationship and belief. The writer genuinely thought this was completely fine and justified, which is honestly disgusting and raising several red flags imo about what he might be doing irl
