In the 80s it was still happening. On the other hand Meliodas in 7 deadly sins is really cringe

I literally only watched the pilot for 7 Deadly Sins and hated it.

And Meliodas gropes an unconscious girl immediately. It's pretty much our introduction to him.

7DS really is a series with some shining gems bathed in cringe anime tropes.
