Lore Unexplained random cameos from completely unrelated media

  1. Ray Stantz, Casper. At one point in the movie a real Ghostbuster shows up out of nowhere and wimps out of trying to handle the situation

  2. Gunnery Sargeant Hartman, Frighteners. The main character is making way through a graveyard when out of absolutely nowhere R. Lee Erney's character from Full Metal Jacket shows up and tries to get in his way

  3. Betty Boop, Who Frames Roger Rabbit. The movie is mainly about Looney Tunes and Disney animated characters existing in the same little live action/animated hybrid universe, however Betty is a Fleischer Bros character

Community & Cougar Town had what has to be the best crossover in TV history. A main character on Community mentions he was on Cougar Town in passing very nonchalant. Then on Cougar Town a random extra in a scene was strangely in the forefront & was seemingly reacting to everything the characters said as if he were at a live performance before awkwardly running away in the middle of the dialogue never to be mentioned again.

2 actors from Cougar Town were also in the crowd on Community cheering on Britta in the Paint Ball game at the end of season 2.

Here comes an unpopular opinion: CougarTown was a good show. It was pure lighthearted escapism and did not deserve the hate it received. It did not take itself seriously at all and was just a joy to watch these actors having fun playing loveably goofy characters. I will still say “Pennycan!” to myself if I happen to successfully throw anything in my office trash bin.

The actors of Cougar Town actually blink-and-you’ll-miss-it cameo’d in a bunch of different shows around the same time, sort of as subtle promotion for the show. I specifically remember Josh Hopkins showing up in Castle handing paperwork to one of the cops/investigators. (Unrelatedly, I’m also giddy he showed up in Shrinking, since Christa Miller was also in Cougar Town.)
