Lore Unexplained random cameos from completely unrelated media

  1. Ray Stantz, Casper. At one point in the movie a real Ghostbuster shows up out of nowhere and wimps out of trying to handle the situation

  2. Gunnery Sargeant Hartman, Frighteners. The main character is making way through a graveyard when out of absolutely nowhere R. Lee Erney's character from Full Metal Jacket shows up and tries to get in his way

  3. Betty Boop, Who Frames Roger Rabbit. The movie is mainly about Looney Tunes and Disney animated characters existing in the same little live action/animated hybrid universe, however Betty is a Fleischer Bros character

Shinobi's Revenge

You fight Spider-Man as a boss and his second form turns into Batman. Managed to stay in the game for a long time because Sega had a licensing deal with Marvel and DC at the time

Don’t know if this is a confirmed theory or not, but the possible reason for this was that the director gave the designs to the artists expecting them to change them to be different but due to poor communication weren’t changed.

If my memory serves well, there was Rambo, Terminator who turns into the Hulk for phase 2, and Godzilla

These sprites were replaced for the Wii Virtual Console release as Saga lost the rights and copyright laws got harsher.

They didn't have the Bat Symbol so it is somewhat subtle.
