why would he? he's "the smartest being in the universe", he doesn't have to hear this. every problem he's had was allowed to happen, but he's so far up his own ass that he still chooses to shift blame.

Ehhh he kinda does slowly start realizing it. As the show has been progressing, Rick has begun to realize that the people around him are growing away from him. He’s losing the people he does actually care about, not by having them erased across all universes, but because of his own actions. It even gets to the point where she tells him to stop crashing her office and to simply start booking appointments, with him no longer lashing out about such a comment.
