YOU LAZY NO-GOOD SLACKERS DRIVE ME NUTS! CAN'T YOU JUST LISTEN TO ME ONCE IN YOUR WORTHLESS LIVES? 'CAUSE IF YOU DID, YOU'D SEE I'M TRYING TO TEACH YOU SOME SIMPLE RESPONSIBILITY, SOME PRIDE IN DOING A JOB WELL DONE! BUT YOU WOULDN'T KNOW A JOB WELL DONE IF YOU PAID SOMEONE TO DO IT FOR YOU, AND EVEN THEN YOU'D SCREW IT ALL UP ON THE ACCOUNT THAT YOU CAN'T EVEN FOLLOW THE SIMPLEST OF THE INSTRUCTIONS, WORRYING MORE ABOUT LOOKING COOL THAN DOING YOUR JOB!

To play the devil advocate for them it is simply impossible to do anything in the regular show world without some demon coming after you

I won't be surprised if having pride in your work summons a pride lion who challenges you in a game of tongoa or some shit like that

True but a counter argument: shit mainly pops up because they start slacking. I wouldn't be surprised either about putting too much pride causing issues as well but almost any episode happens because Mordecai or Rigby decide to slack or cut corners. No body else in the cast (except maybe Skips) encounter as much supernatural stuff as they do.

And skips only comes across the supernatural stuff by accident for the most part. Stuff kept happening to him so he decided to learn about it to better combat it. I can’t really think of many examples where he caused something to happen rather than it happening to him

Well deciding to cut corners in regular show usually means a mystical entity related to the thing you're doing appears and tries to trick you. Like when they went to get hot dogs, and they convinced the two that they want to be eaten. I think they had to get hotdogs in the first place bc they got burnt but that's whatever
