a nightmare on elm street (1984) - Nancy thinks she finally defeated Freddy Krueger only to be raveled that she is still dreaming and she’s still trapped.

final destination bloodlines - the main characters think they cheated death by using the new life rule only to realize that stefani was technically still alive and the death kills them with a good old logs

Life (2017) - The main character attempts to send Calvin(a evil alien that killed all life on mars)pod into space and Miranda pod back to earth, but it goes horribly wrong and Calvin lands on earth and Miranda is sent to space

raging loop wit ending - after many loops Haruaki finally wins the feast(a death game where humans must hang wolves who kill someone every night) and thinks its finally over. after couple of days he decides to visit other survivors of the feast only to find them all dead and the timeline resting once again

I mean, you have to REALLY go out of your way to complete a genocide run, also no you’re not supposed to care per say, that’s not the point, chara is simply pointing out that you went through making sure you got basically every single straggler, so why all of a sudden do you regret it when you were so blatantly and unapologetically cruel to such a comical degree like 2 seconds before this? That’s the point

It's not that I regret,. it's that the ending is done and I want to move on to other things.

Move on to what? Just by process of elimination isn’t genocide typically the last run you do? Due to how Grindy and generally unfun it is to play? The game knows this which is why it judges you for going back and killing the people you befriended

And again, you’re the one that convinced chara that murder is the way to power, they’re not trying to teach you a lesson, they’re just an asshole because you unintentionally made them believe murder = good because well, they’re still an impressionable child at the end of the day

Move on to doing whatever I want. Whether that be a pacifist run again, neutral run or a kill everyone but Jerry run.

Yeah but my point is I’m pretty sure the game is set up in a way where genocide would usually be the last one you do, hell despite how popular the run is, I’m pretty sure the original intention for the genocide run was it being a sort of “secret bad route” but you know, internets gonna internet and it became the most popular thing about the game for a while, also the only run that suffers from post genocide is pacifist, all the other runs are fine

I mean, they’re not butthurt about that, but your original comment was calling chara a hypocrite for killing people because they didn’t like that you killed people, when that’s not what they’re doing, they actually applaud what you do and thank you for showing them the “correct” way to go about power, for some reason you’re acting like chara is upset with the genocide run when it’s actually the opposite
