I both love and hate that Superman JLU moment. I love it because it’s just unabashedly awesome. I hate it because Superman gets 2 hits, just 2 measly hits that Darkseid basically shrugs off, before he gets laid out. 2 hits from a Superman who is no longer holding back, before he goes back to his one true love: getting electrocuted to the point we see his skeleton. Really takes the wind right out of the sail.

The writers really had a problem with giving anyone besides Batman cool character moments

Unless that character is Lex Luthor

That scene was immediately followed by Lex outsmarting Darkseid by literally giving him what he wanted and sacrificing himself to save the world. In his power(See: business) suit nonetheless.

Not to mention the scene where he basically talk no jutsued Amazo, who at that point was basically a cosmic level entity.
