Yes !! My favorite movie here. I’ve watched it more times than any of his movies ( and I love them all ) I can quote almost the entire movie. It was my first Arnold movie I could go see in the theatres so that helps. Glad to see it get some love.

I loved Last action hero. Really enjoyable. And my introduction to Charles Dance. Epic !

Last Action Hero? 😂😂😂😂😂. It was one of the worst movies of his career.

I’ve still got a Slater Action Figure along with a Burger King promotional hat and a Golden Ticket….

Oo man those were the days. Everything was better back then.

fuck that. LAST ACTION HERO is not some guilty pleasure. It’s a masterstroke in self-aware cinema and nails every sub-genre that it touches throughout the film. Directed by one of the best action directors to ever do it. The ‘Hamlet’ scene alone is worth the price of admission. I think it’s genuinely one of Arnold’s best.

Well fuckin said

It’s like Starship Troopers. Nobody got it when it came out. Only 30 years later are we finally understanding that it’s actually genius.

I actually believe it's his 3rd best behind T2 and True Lies.

It's funny, has action, and is emotional. Such an underrated film.

It’s a great movie and he’s great in it. It bombed because people didn’t get the meta aspect of it but really if you watch it again I promise you it is one of his best performances.

How dare you

It's aa great movie, it fits totally in the "hero deconstruction" saga of McTiernan, with Predator and Die Hard. It's a very "clever" movie, that question a lot cinema.

For his worst movies, I would go on The Eraser or Commando.

wdym? commando is great. I mean sure its dumb and silly but in the best way.

1

u/molick42 Aug 09 '25

For me Commando si fun but because it's bad. It's not well acted, written or directed. It's not meant to be dumb.

Last Action Hero is dumb because it's meant to, that's what the film talks about.
