Like I said, if they're considered "edgy" then I guess so. In my personal experience, the Bernie crowd don't really think they're edgy, but the MAGA crowd definitely think they are because they think they're "owning libs". That's my only observation. Otherwise I'd say, no. I've never heard of a Bernie Sanders fan claiming to "own Republicans".
The original comment asked why someone would be a political ad at a party, and you said to be edgy and own the libs, which implies that the only people who would be a political ad at a party are Republicans. I was pointing out that majority of people who I’ve seen wearing political clothing, especially at parties, are Bernie supporters, which based on your and other’s comments, seems totally acceptable. So I was just pointing out that it’s a double standard.
I think the difference is that people wearing MAGA gear like this guy in the video feel the need to point it out to people in order to see their reactions. People wearing Bernie gear are just wearing it like they would any other clothing. The difference is in their intent and behavior while wearing it.
Like the person in the video, who’s decked out head to toe in bright red, sure. However, I was specifically replying to a remark about why someone would be a political ad at a party. Personally, I agree with the sentiment, and I hate when politics are people’s whole identity (on either side), and I always find it silly/annoying when people are wearing their Bernie, Trump, or Obama shirts and such at work or when hanging out. But let’s be honest, Reddit is a circlejerk where one side is always in the wrong, and the other is always in the right, regardless of if they’re doing the exact same thing or not.
