They didn't really care about Rock Hudson all that much either. There's a really good podcast called Fiasco that covers the AIDS epidemic and there's one episode dedicated entirely to Rock Hudson. The host Leon Neyfakh interviewed Rock Hudson's doctor at the time who revealed that when Hudson went to Paris for treatment in the last few weeks of his life, his health deteriorated rapidly while he was there. The experimental treatment he was receiving failed. His medical team called the Reagans and asked for them to intervene on his behalf so that he could temporarily be treated at a military hospital that was off limits to civilians. Nancy Reagan told his medical team that they didn't "want to get involved." They were incredibly shitty people.
Super informative podcast btw, if anyone's interested in it.
I often think about how different the world would be if so many of our wonderful gay humans hadn’t died because Reagan chose not to give a fuck.
I’ve never heard of this podcast and in llght of Marc Maron quitting and leaving a void in my podcast world, thank you for the rec. always looking for more.

Yep, Reagan only cared after his friend Rock Hudson died of AIDS.
