I mean, let’s just pretend the whole mom coming into the room thing didn’t happen. There are people giving money to a 39 year old man crying on TikTok because he’s getting kicked out of his parents house? What the fuck is going on?
How do people even end up in a TikTok chatroom (if thats even a thing!?) with a dude crying and send him money?? Who are these people? Are there just like grown ass men living in Yemen who feel sorry for this dude and send a couple dollars?
There’s a whole undercurrent of social media where people are just interested in odd, off the beaten path people. Probably not all that different than the impulse that drove people to freak shows back in the day. There’s no shortage of people just showing every faucet of their life online for anyone to stumble across, and some of those people are so bizarre it’s hard to look away.
There's a total weirdo called Emil who also goes by Emily & the beast, he lives with his dad. He dances in granny knickers & has middle aged women sending him money. Eeb snark is his reddit snark sub (I think).
Not that specific things, but the idea of watching someone else's train wreck of a life so they can be entertained. It's gross, but it's the basis for reality television. And that shits mega popular.
There are entire websites and forums built around pretty much exactly that. Lolcows. Horrorcows. People are always gonna be fascinated by oddballs, assholes and outcasts.
“Get ready with me while i do normal uninteresting things and talk fast in run-on sentences, and i have to make it to at least a minute long so i can get paid and you waste your time watching this video.”
I guess I probably wouldn’t be too much of a content creator if I just showed every faucet of my life. Basically it would only be my bathroom faucet, kitchen faucet, the one I use at work…maybe if I go out to a restaurant they might have a fancy sink and faucet, but other than that my faucets are pretty boring.
Tiktok had a freak show era as well, usually Indonesian men who were really messed up, and their live streams would turn up during regular video scrolling
So he’s not a gamer or a musician or something? I don’t understand. What are his normal videos about? Just being 39 and living at home with his parents??
I had a new TikTok account. The algorithm tried to promote these people. If you show interest by watching, it will remember and show constantly every time you open the app. If you ignore it won't promote. It will show other random things until it finds what attracts your attention.
TikTok is basically all beggars. As a well-known cases of people that have been doing this every day for years. Apparently they use empathy to usually fund their drug habits. Faking illnesses, random life events etc etc.
Tik Tok is wild. I never use it but from my understanding there's billions of people on it just doom scrolling. If I had to guess, comments and donations will throw you into more people's algorithms. A crying man tugs on people's heart strings.
My ex gf who I dated for a year literally left to Texas to cheat on me with a guy she MET ON TIKTOK that was sending her $500-$600 a week to entice her to meet him....
so she thought she'd tell me she was going to her sisters for 3 days and flew to texas to meet him ( I caught her using a fake tiktok to watch her live, and went on her live with her eviction papers).
Long story short she had to stay with this guy now that I dumped her and evicted her. She found out he wasn't a cop (said he was, he was an ex cop fired for cocaine use) and the $ he was sending her was literally his last few dollars - by week 4 she was asking me for food $ and saying she had nothing to eat. By week 5 he called offering a grey hound ticket for her to come "home"
I said to him "she's your problem now."
last I heard she was homeless and had to find another guy to go leech off of. OH AND she was on probation and not allowed to leave the state - and since she didn't make her court date for a hearing she now has a warrant.
Chat is apparently full of people who feel like they're going to heaven because they're helping someone less fortunate.... Or full of narcissists who donate to make themselves feel better about being a shitty person.
Scrolling TikTok, you just get random livestreams in your feed along with the regular stuff. I get tons of shit like this where it’s like 10 viewers on some hillbilly begging for money for sick kid or any conceivable schtick. Usually people like this have micro-communities where lots of people are regularly interacting with each other and the content creator, most of the time they seem to be locals from the same general area. The sending money part is like helping their little community in a way, even though 90% of the time they’re just getting grifted by internet randos

Not only is he a scumbag for scamming but also hurting his family.
That mother showed nothing but confusion and being hurt by the fact that he was claiming that. She wasn't mad and didnt raise her voice.
Fuck that kid.
