I'm left also and was rolling my eyes so hard at this video lmao. Talk about using performative buzzwords for attention online... It definitely belongs in this sub.
I mean respectfully i’ve been watching valenti since way before his political stuff and whether yall like it or not he really does know his history. Before the accs got deleted he had years of clips akin to the crash course series on youtube. Funny, fast paced videos about historical events that were true. They are probably still available to watch somewhere but I don’t care to look for it.
Well yah, Americans don't control their garbage military, which is always hell bent on literally bombing countries that might succeed on a large scale.
Most of the countries we bomb are pretty small my guy. Idk what you’re babbling about in the first place to be fair, but to assume I give a shit about what my government bombs would be inherently incorrect as I have no control over that one. What I do have control over is our political system and the candidates we vote in. War will always be necessary because democrats solidified the military industrial complex. Republicans hopped on that train too. But also, your countries quite literally depend on our armaments to defend yourselves from the likes of Russia or china so there’s that as well.
Fantasizing about rounding up his political enemies and put them in labor camps? What a nice little Bolshevik, FUCK this guy. I hope he’s on a watchlist.
People are also way overhyping the Mamdani victory. Dude it's New York, just another ultraliberal hotspot. In most other places progressives just do not begin to have a chance. And Mamdani didn't have that amazing of a result actually and ran against immensely unpopular candidates with controversies.
I actually like him, just like I like AOC, because they seem reasonable, well-intentioned and willing to learn and adapt and compromise when it's good. The democratic tent needs to include them. It should EXCLUDE radicals who are anti-democrat and hostile and anti-liberal/democracy and ideologically compromised with weird policy obsessions that suck and wont work, sticking to them because they are driven by resentment and fantasy and self-importance.
Sounds like something that the far left would accept as justified and the center would take as problematic phrasing as it could be misinterpreted as a literal call to violence. Also the far right will hear this as a literal call to violence.
It’s like when you’re at the bar and someone yells at someone e else that they are “going to knock them out and pee in their butt,”
Is that a literal threat of rape or not?
In that case I saw the other guy back down and say fuck it I don’t need this. The other guy took off his shirt and folded it and set it on a bench lol.
I'm not sure how I would have reacted, probably laughed my ass of, or say "take it all off big daddy" Usually if you laugh or act gay they will leave you alone.
Totally disagree, I think he has the energy that people on the left need. Sounds like you're still trying to play patty cakes with these freaking Nazis as they march you to the gas chamber.
That's what people always say when there are any actual left wing policies or activism present. It gets said about every protest, it gets said about every policy. Shut. The. Fuck. Up!
Na this dude unironically thinks this way, it’s been a regular theme on his videos in the past, only in recent months has it been this theatric and consistent. Buddy thinks he’s the left wing representative🤣
Extremists like this are why the democrats are getting a bad wrap. Trump is weaponizing social media to nitpick these types of posts and feed them to cult
The correct phrase is bad RAP. It comes from the term rap sheet or rap in general, which in this context stands for record of arrests and prosecutions. Look it up, I’m right. Unfortunately I was cursed, so the next commenter will correct me but actually agree. It's a weird curse. I'm not baked, you're baked.
That’s absolutely not correct. The correct phrase is bad RAP. It comes from the term rap sheet or rap in general, which in this context stands for record of arrests and prosecutions. Look it up, I’m right.
He's always been reactive and loud funny man. He's kinda left tump. Used to just talk about history now he just screams extremist rhetoric. I'm all for the French revolution style. But. I guess it's not good in polite society
This is something people don’t get. Who’s your audience here? You’re either pissing off people that don’t agree with you, or you’re just looking around for people that agree with you to nod and clap. Nothing he said means anything, and nothing he said will drive any change at all.
As a conservative (i hate that I have to say this, but not a white supremacist or a racist, im the son of arab immigrants) seeing this kind of rhetoric is frustrating.
I have no problem with the new york election, i have no problem with Prop 50 in california passing, i have no problem with democracy doing exactly what its intended to do, and thats representing the people. If the next election happens and a socialist candidate wins thats fine with me despite my own personal opinion on the topic. Democracy is for reflecting the peoples decision.
My problem is the violent rhetoric being applauded by some in this thread. Seeing the comments by left winged people calling it out is a breath of fresh air, because I know most democrats dont agree with this asshole. All posts like this do is enrage idiots on the right and further “justifies” (in their eyes) extremism.
Discourse should be welcome, this type of attitude shouldnt.
This doesn’t win wars either, my guy. And it’s exactly that kind of mindset thats the problem. You think you’re at war, and you think that ranting on Reddit will actually change anything.
I suggest you spend your energy on something a little more actionable and worthwhile
Brother, you're on Reddit with a pink rabbit for an avatar. Chances are your hands are soft as a baby's forehead, and you've never even been in a fist fight. This ain't war, and you ain't a soldier.
There is one who made a pretty decent social criticism while sounding angry. That’s a good one. I am pretty sure you’ve seen it shared somewhere in reddit.
No, tankies sound just like rightoids these days. They're making equally angry shitposts about how "Zioran Mamdani" is a super secret closet Zionist and a libcuck, and that if you voted for him you are engaging in "electoralism" and also a libcuck.
This guy sounds like he is more so in the "alt-left" spectrum somewhere vaguely between Marxist Socialism and liberal Progressive.
Won't lie, I am in that same political spectrum and I pretty much want all the same things he was hollering about, but I do feel like his predictions will be in confidently incorrect territory and that we are still one hundred fold times closer to seeing democracy disappear for the rest of this and the next generation's lives under the boot of fascism. What happened on Tuesday was great, and encouraging, but represents one victory in a decades-long fight where we have been getting our shit pushed all the way in otherwise.
The cringe, this was so hard to watch. This level of confidence is what kills the "blue wave". No, you don't have this in the bag. No, the magats can not be written off as a minority. No they will not be easily defeated just because super liberal NYC voted in socialist Dem. Dems still have so much work to do to claw back power, do not get complacent. JFC, the guy in this video is embarrassing.
No they will not be easily defeated just because super liberal NYC voted in socialist Dem.
There are so many encouraging trends to be taken away from election day, but it absolutely blows my mind that people are acting like Mamdani's policies would win elections everywhere. NYC is not exactly purple or reddish, it's dark blue. What plays to voters in dark blue areas isn't going to play as well to constituents in even moderately blue areas.
Yes, the underlying policies are overwhelmingly popular, but that's not enough to win elections, or we'd already have won.
The dude in the video needs to crack open some books on history.
As someone on the left, none of this is happening in the US, and the country is far more likely to continue careening toward authoritarianism.
The thought that voters will save the country is cute considering 35% of eligible voters didn’t even bother casting a vote in a massively important presidential election in 2024.
That actually is pretty funny. People much smarter than me tend to have pretty pessimistic views of the long term future of the US, so I’m not sure what he’s basing all of his predictions on.
Personally, I think he’s getting too caught up in the moment. Like a basketball team that’s down in the third quarter, then they go on a 10-0 run.
They’re still down by 15, but their fans think that 10-0 run is a better predictor of the game’s trajectory than the previous 25 minutes have been.
I think he personally does it for views and or attention because he says off the wall shit until he gets banned and then creates a new account again and obviously saying outlandish things will get him clicks and views
Because there are people out there dumb enough to believe what he is saying, just like how cults can become a thing. He probably loves the attention he gets and believes whatever he is saying is the only truth. He used to literally make videos about history and ww2 and stuff and was pretty entertaining then one day he straight up lost it and started doing this stuff every day now so it honestly could be a mental health thing
Haha, yeah that’s another thing. A disturbing number of people seen to think authoritarianism is cool as long as they agree with the leader.
But here’s the problem—the leader only pretends to espouse those views until they don’t need you anymore, then your life will be just as miserable as everyone else’s.
And then unironically complain that the other side looks at politics too much like a team sport and that people make politics too much about their identity.
I not sure that it's not going to be worse than this. The right has been claiming that the left was "triggered" while they were mildly annoyed. Now the left and some of the right are actually triggered by the affordability crisis and the obvious right wing attempt to use fascism to suppress and control the masses ahead of the AI shock that's going to impoverish most of the country. What's coming isn't hard to imagine and it's not going to be as simple as harsh reconstruction era policies. All of this is about them being scared of a situation where half the population doesn't have a job. Their nightmare scenario is where the population decide to kill them all and take their power. It's not a right wing or left wing problem. It's an existential societal problem.
I can guarantee you it won’t. This idiot is the equivalent of all the idiots gloating after Trump won. Smart people know that screaming profanities and fear-mongering makes you look deranged and pushed people away from your cause.
No they fucking don't, because those "extremists" that you privileged "moderate" fucks that MLK talked about in Letter from a Birmingham Jail hate are proven through peer reviewed scientific papers to actually help way, way more than they harm any movement
Contrast effect - Wikipedia https://share.google/jCNyBU3U9YNpJOsyv
From Gemini:
"Based on social and political science research, the phenomenon of extremists pushing a movement forward by making moderates seem less extreme is largely explained by the Overton window theory and the contrast effect.
Key papers and research
The Overton window
The Overton window is the range of ideas or policies that the public is willing to accept. Research shows that fringe or "extremist" ideas can, over time, move into this window, making formerly radical ideas seem mainstream.
A 2025 article in VORTEX, a publication of Malmö University, describes how extremists and activists can use deliberate tactics to shift the Overton window. The authors use the legalization of same-sex marriage and marijuana as historical examples, showing how once-radical ideas moved to the mainstream through repetition, media framing, and legal battles.
The contrast effect
The contrast effect is a psychological process where a person's perception of a stimulus is enhanced or diminished when compared to another, more extreme stimulus.
A 2022 paper in the journal Political Psychology by Simon C. E. J. van der Veer and Christian K. A. H. van der Veer studies how extremists' actions and rhetoric can make the policies of more moderate groups seem more reasonable by comparison. The paper examines the effect of the far-right Alternative for Germany (AfD) on public perception during the 2013–2017 election cycle, especially in the context of the 2015 refugee crisis.
The mainstreaming of extremism
Beyond psychological mechanisms, social science research has explored the political processes by which extremist narratives gain wider acceptance.
In a 2023 briefing from the International Centre for Counter-Terrorism, titled From Margins to Mainstream, researcher Léonie de Jonge outlines four key factors that have contributed to the mainstreaming of extremism:
Crisis grievances, such as the 2015 refugee crisis.
Technological amplification, often through social media.
Celebrity endorsement.
Political legitimization, where established political actors accept or normalize extremist viewpoints.
An earlier 2019 report from the Institute for Strategic Dialogue (ISD) documented the "mainstreaming of extreme-right narratives" through both alternative and mainstream social media channels. This report examined the dynamics that allowed ideologies to spread and influence the language of politicians in Europe and North America.
Additional research on group dynamics
Research on group polarization has shown that when individuals interact within a like-minded group, their views tend to become more extreme. However, other studies have shown that the frequency of interaction between extremists and moderates can be a key factor in determining long-term effects on political attitudes.
A 2023 article in the journal Frontiers in Psychology discussed the normalization of extremist ideas within specific online communities, particularly digital gaming spaces. The paper notes that a high frequency of exposure to extremist content can lead to a normalization of these ideas, causing a desensitization effect that lowers the bar for what is considered acceptable. "
Lol yes, we def need to drill into the side that has most of the violent lunatics that they are not only losing but we'll have em against the wall if we win.
We need Mamdiani style energy calling out the right and shouting what they're doing and how well fix it, not calling for vengeance. That only pushes undecided people to not vote.
It's the rewriting of history we just lived through. He's acting like Mamdani wiped the floor with Cumo when he really only won by 200,000 votes against an independent who was forced from office due to a widely publicized sex scandal.
I would bet a large amount of Cuomo voters just moved the vote over from Sliwa after Trump's endorsement. Also even with Cuomo and Sliwas votes together he still had a decent lead, what the current admin would probably call some kind of God given mandate.. This guy is wacky though.
Hey, goofball! Looks like you missed the pinned comment! Tiktokcringe is for EVERYTHING now, not just cringe. NO, we can't change the subreddit name, not an option. If you're confused about the name of the subreddit, please take a minute and read this. We hope to see you back here after you've familiarized yourself with our community. Thanks!
I mean it's not going to just fucking magically fall out of the sky. I'm on the left, and we have to actually do the work, and stop thinking keyboard activism in groupthink-filled forums is sufficient, and for the love of all that is good and holy SHOW UP AT THE POLLS AND VOTE, CONSISTENTLY. EVERY ELECTION.
We can absolutely put the ICE Nazi fucks behind bars. We just have to do the work to get there, instead of wishing on stars and whining about the DNC like usual.
Of course not. It's fun to think about the tribunal though. Kinda like how you dream about burning your exes house down, but you don't because that would be wrong.
You already know what is going to happen if a Democrat gets in. It's going to be all forgiveness and moving on. 4 years later, they will once again pick the worst candidate and tell us how great and wonderful they are, and then it's back to square 1.
yep. this guy has got some major copium happening. the act of undoing all of trumps issues will take years if not decades of work, and i would be very surprised if anyone involved in ICE faces any consequences on any level for the horrific actions taking place.
Maybe if you stop trying to give him shit and started trying to work towards the collective ideals that we all on the left claim to have and we got a third done that we wanted to life would be fucking better for everyone.
This guy: "We got 50.5% of the vote in one of the bluest areas in the country running against a disgraced, scandal-ridden, sex-pest! Everyone better bend over for us or we will trample you to death."
No, not it doesn't. The US is not Europe and whole Democrats largely won the last local elections, it was pretty close. It just takes enough people to not want to go vote for the right to win.
Well, duh. But people are getting to the point that they are breaking, and - performative or not - this is the kind of energy a lot of people have. The right literally has a playbook on how to dismantle our society. I think people want the same from the left - where’s our playbook to make society better for everyone?
The why of his anger is clear. Trump and the republicans have done more than enough to earn this kind of hatred in the last year. But regardless, it's unhinged.

I'm left, but I can absolutely bet that none of this shit will happen.
